Nope. Accepts the number, click the checkbox for proxy on, exit game, wait for the demon to quit, start launcher - same 5 minute wait for launcher screen, proxy box is unchecked. Does it automatically every time.
On the blank name and password idea, makes no difference that I can see, and I discovered another problem with that idea - try to create new session and the game just locks up. Looking for a new KUID number and without a username it gets lost.

Try running the program as administrator?
What antivirus/malware program are you running. There are some that are stricter than others and do stuff even if you disable the options. Kaspersky is one that comes to mind.

Well, thanks for the tips John, but my system is always stripped down to eliminate background fluffware, and anti virus/firewalls are always the first things I test. "Run as administrator" applies to Vista and later, I'm still running XP media center edition (similar to 32 bit XP PRO), which may be the problem - if planet auran updated something that doesn't work and play well with XP then I'm out of luck.
As for the original poster, I'm in agreement here - a game developer releases a game with bugs that's understandable, if they fail to fully patch the bugs why should I waste money on the next game in the series? That's why I never bought Silent Hunter 5 or Skyrim, the previous versions were never fixed to my satisfaction.

A completely understandable philosophy but it means that you will often miss out on many new features and improvements (and yes those improvements and features will often come with new bugs).
Microsoft never patched ALL the bugs in XP, or in Vista, or in Windows 8 so why would anyone ever move on to Windows 10?
I purchased it when it had problems first.. i left it for a year or two and came back and WOW, the community fixed it. The software maker decided to ALLOW the community enough access to the game engine to fix it.

The community of addons and community patches is why its good. And is possible because the software makes the game opened up to modders and patchers to a heavy degree.

Perhaps tane should go more open to get community patches? Even tane only gets 30fps with my hotrod system. SLI'd gtx1080's, oclocked and watercooled....
(yea yea, graphics are at maximum, thats why) You sure nothing can get more optimized, while keeping quality?
And the smoke and steam from engines still flies all over the place and rises above the engine all the time, GLITCH! BUG! (the emitter source literally rises above the smoke stack, gradually before its 10 feet above it, sometimes resets, others not)
And the bug report was made long ago about the whistle on the official TANE-DLC-Nickel-Plate-High-Speed-Freight-Set That was i think, literally their FIRST released DLC for tane? Still not fixed...

I doubt that will ever get a fix... or the steam/smoke flying up into the air and into the ground randomly?
And i really wonder about the aliasing issues i see all the time on rail track and ties not too far in front of the camera and on engine numbers... among other locations.. whats up with that...

Whats funny is, after posting this I was playing TANE, on the kickstarter map with the Nickel Plate Rail session DLC, and this happened. Notice the missing stack smoke and side steam. Somethings still not right.
Nice detail and quality tho right? SP3 is the BEST YET.
This error happened when TANE was in full screen mode, No vertical sync, 2560x1440 : 120hz.
My nvidia profile uses GTAV for TANE with nvidia inspector. I have found it works best with tane.
Never owned any of them. Probably never will. For the exact reason you say. I migrate to new software platforms USUALLY when all the sycophants have done all the testing for these companies that should be hiring testing firms.
(yes im a trainz sycophant, i admit it, i own lots of dlc, tane then tane deluxe, even while problems were still obvious the entire time)

This post is probably one of the most informative bug submissions as far as system, nvidia settings, tane settings, that you can get.
Take note people.. How to help developers debug, provide as much info about your settings as possible with screen shots of every setting.
You can even provide benchmark screen shots of the system if that will help, LIKE THIS:
I don't have a screen shot of the nvidia PHYSX setting, but its set to AUTO.
