The Canadian Thread - Hi-Res images

re post #3296 froobie

Thank you Michael for the compliment, I must say the route you are working on looks most impressive.

To get the textures on the map, I first make a palette of ground textures on a spare part of the map, then use "Tools-Copy/Paste-Selection".
to cover the map in the area I am working on, then add if necessary any rock textures. Add trees to the palette if required. Thus a large area can be quickly achieved.

Ken, this is a screenshot thread, not a real photo thread LOL ! Thanks for your shot and work Michael....how is your hand now, totally recovered ?

Great shots all. I envy the high definition of Ken's shots.
Todays is a shot in the Belfort Loops, just north of Princeton.

Ken, great screen shots from and what Pierre and Michael said goes for me too. I like the idea of making a palette of textures but I don't think it will work on my route which is largely agricultural.

Looking good there Michael! I think your own texturing is very nice and very dry which is how I remember that area when we were there years ago.

Trainz time for me has been pretty near zero for me this past week. Have a great weekend guys!

Ken, it's difficult to find adequate adjectives to describe the screen shots that you've posted lately. Simply outstanding!! You sure have the talent for putting it all together!

Here's a passenger heading west near Zelma.

Inside the coaches I discovered some people reading the newspaper. The headlines gave me quite a chuckle.

Thank you Jack. Nice distant shot Jack. All "I phones" now, newspapers thing of the past.

CN Train M365 rolls through Windsor Jct. while an empty oil train with a "Blue Devil" waits for the clear

A few miles down WI County Highway DF, CN 9601 switches the interchange with the Wisconsin Northwoods, while the daily WNRR turn waits for M365 to pass the diamond

"Sniff sniff" Does anyone else smell creosote and anthracite?
Simply outstanding pics from everybody. This Trainz simulation thing is quickly becoming all too realistic.

Realistic - I agree Claude! And every time Ken posts a screen shot the bar gets raised! When I was looking at the latest from Ken on my little 7 inch tablet, I first thought that the first shot was an actual photo. Fantastic Ken!

We've got the CP 1401 coming here on August 1st so in keeping with that news, here's some CP passenger action.
Cheers, Jack

Looks good guys, Quick update on my CN route, I'll be updating another reless shortly. Been working on the Truro Yard Sorry no screen shots today.

Hello all;

Great pictures everyone. I love the crispness in Ken's pictures. Perhaps he could share how it's done. Please.

Two shots near Summerland:

The area around Summerland & Penticton is known for it's fruit. I'm replacing the apple tree splines - which were the best for the purpose in TRS 2010 - with speedtreez. The look is better, but more work.

That's all for today.
Cheers,
--Michael.
PS sorry about the floating road, It's due for upgrading too. :)
