zooming out

Hi, i'm testing 2004 for a potential job. I've played around with it the last couple days and am frustraited by what appears to be the max zoom out. I can't get far enough away from the scene to view my design area all at once. I know there's a minimap, but it only shows the buildings as little rectangular outlines, which is inadequate to compare scale and placement.

Is there any way to get a full zoom out while viewing the objects as they are inteded to appear, or am i simply SOL?

You can open the TRS file an open Trainzoptions and type in the phrase: -surveyorfov=35...at anytime you can edit the phrase and change the surveyorfov to: -surveyorfov=135 , or as much as -surveyorfov=185. Just make sure to re-edit it back to: -surveyorfov=35 , or you will be in a fisheye view mode.

I also tried:ALT+LU or ALT+Lucyinthesky, and it made flying up in the sky possible by using the mouse forward, and arrow keys UP, DOWN, LEFT, or RIGHT...press ESC to exit that mode.
Can't seem to get ALT+FLY, or ALT+WALK to work in TRS2006

I think that running Trainz: "run in a minimized screen" is not recomended...but you can try it...IDK ?...and you can always set it back to "run in a full screen" if it doesn't work.

Thanks for your reply to my question--i goofed when i posted it here so moved it to this new thread:
http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=37661

i didn't understand the suggestion you made, unless you're meaning to remove the "-fullscreen" line from the "trainzoptions.txt" file in the TRS2004 folder. I tried this, and while it did succeed in creating a smaller frame for the trainz program it still exhibited the same problem--when trainz was selected as the operating program i couldn't navigate my cursor beyond the smaller window it was in.

I will add this comment to the other thread and use that one from here out. Thanks!
