Young People And Railways (how old are you?)

Growing old is part of life
Growning up-well thats up to you:D

Also while I'm moving towards more "Grown Up" stuff(I've recently got an addicted to BR Blue-thanks to tmz06003 content) I still use steam and Thomas models-laugh if youlike but helps me to relive my childhood when life was simpler and nap time was maked by the sound of the theme from Heatbeat

Im 17, the only one in school who likes trains. At a young age, I was watching Strasburg, C&TSR,Roaring Camp, and the blue talking engine that everyone hates/adore. Now, going into senior year, I am wanting to be a conductor for tourist lines. If not, track patrol man or anything that alows me to be on the rails!

I don't do age, but I've been a railfan my entire life. It began when I saw my first train which was a Burlington Northern Railroad coal train in North Dakota powered by an SD60 and an SD70MAC. I have also seen Southern Pacific 4449 twice in my life and I hope I get to maybe do volunteer work on her someday.

I'm 3 years and 7 months old. Mummy says I'm a child probably, whatever that means? My favourite beer is Guinness Extra Stout (you know, the one without the widget) and I quite like champagne too. I've given up the fags though as at 7 quid plus for a full deck, they're just too dear.

16yrs old currently going to 11th grade(junior) been liking trains since I was about 2 or 3 my family says and I want to be a train operator for MTA NYCT.

I'm 12 and I have been loving trains since before I was born.
I was probably some crazy locomotive designer in my previous life.

I'll be 23 in November, I've been an railfan/foamer my whole life. I started Volunteering at the Colorado Railroad Museum 4 years ago, and was hired onto the Georgetown Loop Railroad earlier this year, and am now a Qualified Fireman, Conductor, and Brakeman.

It's nice to love trains, and then be able to make a living off it it.

By the way, just because people won't admit it, won't go trainspotting, does not mean there is no interest.

For the record, I have never once in my life actually gone to a Class 1 railroad to go Trainspotting. But then again, my love lies with Steam.

I'm 18, but have loved trains all my life. You can blame by grandpa for it. He grew up in the end of steam, on the Katy/MKT railroad (my favorite, thanks to him). he told me stories about how his teacher at school had to frantically run and shut the windows when the old J-5 Mogul rumbled by with the local freight on the Paola-Louisburg cutoff. He regaled me with tales of the famous steam engines, and with my overactive immagination, it wasn't hard for me to imagine standing in the cab of a J3a hudson, racing up the hudson river with the 20th Century Limited.

As you can imagine, i grew up a steam lover. It's even so bad my parents know more about trains than the average person:D :hehe:

Ill be 40 in November. Been railfanning since I was about 5 years old. My grandfather worked for Southern Pacific and back in the 1980's. I was able to get cab rides with him through Tehachapi and Cajon Pass. Those were the good ol days. These days, I dont get to do much railfanning except when I make my yearly trip to Los Angeles in the spring. I always make a trip to Cajon Pass and Fullerton when I am out there.

15. I think I was born a Railfan.

Almost life-long fan of Tom Fawell's EMD work.

Im 12. I was born a railfanner. My dads uncle(who is dead now) worked for the C&O In Alma Mi. My other uncle(still alive) worked for the Chessie System in Grand Rapids.Dads Uncle derailed a C&O Coal Train in Detriot.:o

42 years old, my husband(ex but still friends)got the famliy into trains & now me & my younger son share playing Trainz. We both have Trainz at each house so that way my son can still play the game when he goes over. My ex has a 4x8 HO Scale layout at his house that we go over some times to have a ops session.

I've practically 37 - loved railways all my life. I have a mass of OO gauge stuff I shipped when I moved to the US from the UK which I will eventually get running again (time and other issues).

I come from a city which has major links and history with the railways (Derby, UK). Seeing the different engines/trains and weird stuff near the railway technical centre for years when going to London on the train with my family certainly helped the interest :-D

Over in Sacramento for a couple of days in a few weeks with my wife and will certainly be going to the railroad museum.

I'm nearly 20, and have been into railways all my life. I think it was a combination of being a HUGE fan of Thomas the Tank when I was little, and the fact that my parents are rail fans as well, so it's rubbed off on me I think. I love being around trains, they are just so fantastic to watch. I'm from Australia, so my favorite trains are the V/Line V/Locities, and the NA Class locos on the Puffing Billy Railway.

23 here, railroading runs threw my family's blood mostly all them men in my family have worked for the railroads. my grandpa started for Erie RR then Erie lackwanna, conrail, and stuck it out all the way to NS, then retired in 2002, my other grandpa worked for the pennsy. my dad worked for bessemer if you were to look at me you wouldn't even think I like trainz, i ride motorcross and love metal music and dubstep, oh and did I mention trains :p

This would be like double post, but now that I can describe myself better I am going to do it :D
Im 19, and I believe that i am the only one on my 15,000 ppl village that like trains since i havnt met anybody that likes it yet. My grandpa's father worked in one building called "casilla", (something looklike a signal/engineers small office), so after that we are known as "casilleros" on my village, and im proud of it. Im with trains since i was 3 years old, and later after HO models and others i met MSTS and later in 2001 i met Trainz, and since TRS2004 (i bought it on early 2005) here i am. Now i can recreate some of the best trains that there arnt around us anymore in trainz, so im very happy with who i am

Greetings
