Wretched assets and dependencies

Can anyone help?

I had some mk1 suburban coaches that I downloaded from an external site, they worked and looked really nice. I saved the layout as a new scenario. When I went back in they had disappeared, and now show as having errors in surveyor. How could this have happened?

In all I have tens of loco and rolling stock (just for uk content) with errors that prevent them working. Is there a tool or piece of software that can fix these problems - preferably with minimal input from me - in content manager?

It seems overly difficult to get something working, it's more like a detective game, finding out who the author is, trying to download modified assets that cm says you already have etc etc.

I have done both a quick and extensive database repair all to no avail.

Find 1 of the coaches in CM, r/click on it and select view deps, to see if any are missing. Shouldn't be any missing if they were ok though.
Then view errors and warnings. See what that says.

I see you have TS2010. You can still see the assets in compatibility mode. To activate this, First open Trainz from the launcher, then when it finally opens, and shows the blue menu screen, there's a drop down list. Go into options from that drop down list, and scroll down on the first tab. There should be a checkbox thing that says 'enable compatibility view'. Select that and then exit the options. Restart the program and you should see the assets

A note regarding the last post.

If you have the Multiplayer patch (either build 46170 or 49938) installed, you will not have compatibility mode.

Thanks, that worked and I can now see those coaches again, plus quite a few loco's that weren't available.

Would I be correct in thinking that I cannot apply the latest two patches without them disappearing again?

As long as you do not install the Mulitiplayer Beta patch, they will still work.

You can still install the 44088 to 49933 patch though, as this does not include the Multiplayer Beta.
