Can I disable assets rather than delete them?

Title pretty much covers it. I'm playing around with a packaged route and there's a couple of assets I don't want. I know I can delete them but what if I want to roll back? Can I disable the assets but leave them in situ or is this something that I need to handle by rolling back?

TIA

Apparently I have to wait 17 seconds before posting this....

When you work on a packaged route, you work on a clone of that,
the original stays as it was.

You can make a new "tempoff" layer
then select an item and change its properties (often the "?"),
so its on the new tempoff layer
then in the layer list make thaT layer invisible

In Content manager is a tab "Content" with a "disable" option
this however will affect all routes that item is used on.

How about exporting them as a .cdp file to a sub-directory created within the Trainz folder then deleting them. You can then re-import the files as and when necessary. Peter

How many routes / sessions use that asset? If only the route you are working with uses them ... what if you change their build number to 99? Would they then be ignored by the route? How much trouble would such a crazy idea create?
