<kuid:328583:20117> JVC#(Mix1) Grass spline 14m.
<kuid:1097244:100647> JR SL(05) 1-H-L dwarf but can't give this away as I cloned this from Jointed Rail to provide a left hand version of the asset since they don't have one for reasons unbeknownst to me.

The first two abandoned branch lines on this route. East is the Tuckerwood Branch which traveled 12 miles to its namesake serving two industries. A Dairy Plant and Cannery Factory which generated traffic on a daily basis. West was the Blackwell Branch which was eight miles to its namesake. It only served a Meat Packing Plant but still had trains operating on the weekdays Monday-Friday.

The Cooper Branch Line extends 20 miles east passing through Cooper and ending in Apple Grove. Cooper is six miles east of the main line and had two Dairy Factories generating traffic. Apple Grove, 14 miles further east, had a Meat Packing Plant and Cannery 14 serviced by the railroad. The line was constructed in 1900 and completed by 1902. It had a pair of sidings, one east of Cooper halfway between there and the town of Apple Grove. The second was two miles west of Cooper. Both were started and completed in 1920 due to increasing volume of branch traffic during the 1910s, especially World War I. This branch line got its namesake Cooper due to being the first town passed through. By the 1960s only one Meat Packing Plant in Cooper and the Apple Grove Dairy Factory was around. By 1976 those two remaining customers contract ended with the railroad and chose trucking instead. In 1980 the railroad filed for abandonment and was briskly approved by the ICC. All of the left over rolling stock not retrieved was then picked up just days after securing approval for abandonment. While the tracks remain in place, including the spurs, loading docks, sidings and junction giving it mainline access nearly all of the grade level crossings were removed. Only two complete sets still remain. Both are in Cooper and Apple Grove respectively. Some halfway disassembled crossings still exists but most have either been removed entirely or reduced to wooden crossbuck signs stating tracks out of service with trucks and buses exempt. It paralleled Northland State Highway Route 8 for its entirety. Some believe it played a role in its demise.
