need i little advice

WOOOW!!!!

Absolutely fantastic shots!

Greets, Jan

thanks Jan if you compliment my winter shots of Lake Louise. The rout is full of super great views to many to take pictures you can imagine.
I did alter trees of DMdrake but got big trouble now in TS2009 with the blending. sometimes it happened little bit in TRS 2006 but not worth correcting but here it is like fireworks the wrong way. the transparency, blending whatever caused the wrong first and second to see and what's behind is big time lost in 2009 especially under a certain viewing angle, sometimes it looks normal but the closer you get to eye height viewing you'r in trouble and same for the spline roads and powerlines, not only Drakes stuff. Guessed maybe you have any idea what's causing it and what to do about it.
I looked for wintertrees on the dls but never find real nice once I can use in splines for the massive forests in my Canadian route.

have a good one,

cheers
Roy

her I made a thread but not to many people reacted but nice comments from few though.:'(lol

Most important is that you're not shy of creating a route with tons of boards to give the real feeling of a realistic route with fake backgrounds or covered by forest, Nooo I prefer panoramic long distant views and run the trains with zfar 8000 m In TS 20090 that's a nice feautre now but limited to 5.000m but if you go into the settings you can easily alter them to higher and still run fine!
What you see here is Yoho national Park near Stephen or better the kicking horse pass with the famous loops going up to Lake Louise from Field.
If you like the picts i post some more.
Ok i am off now and go (virtual skiing on my trainz slopes on Big Horn Lake Louise and get that same feeling like the real thing from my lazy chair here in the tropics. lol:hehe::hehe::hehe:

cheers

DM drake is the MR. tree himself with all the nice trees he has made:) . And David always keep the poly's down to still having a great look.

..Back to your question...., I have tried out some 06 assets from my collection and they looked ok. Then I tried to get the alpha PURE B/W, but the result looked wierd. I checked out a 'build - in' grass object in 09 and the alpha was greyscale blended. Still the grass looked ok so i really don't know what reason this happends.

I prosess my image files with photoshop and add the selection to the alpha - channel, then I save the alpha as an embedded .tga. This seems to be the 'safe' way to avoid problems of this kind so I have used this method on my latest assets.

Can you try out some of my latest uploads and see if you have this error or not?

Jan here at TRainzdev you can my problem in TS2009.
I will keep you posted and thanks again.

regards,

Roy

This problem happends with splines, and as your shot shows, this is also a TRS09 problem, the background 'shines through' the spline. I do not have any solution to this, but if you use scenery objects instead of splines, the scenery objects seems to be more 'resistant':o (than splines) to this problem....don't ask me why...But if you use the 'copy and paste' method the trees will deploy at ground level. This way you can place large number of trees in short time.

This is an isssue for me who create trees for use in TRS09, I might prefer to create scenery objects instead of splines. I'm into a LOT of testing these days so I'll get back to you when I have more knowledge on this issue.....

regards, Jan

TRS2006 did not have this problem though like TS2009

forgot to tell you yhe picts are from TS2009. In TRS 2006 some Drake trees had that shiny look through little bit but not as massive and road splines not at all.

use sleet i.o snowflakes very nice though

very good shots Adam. this look a nice route you made. Yes the snowflakes are little bit hefty so use sleet instead. lol:hehe:

cheers

Roy
