its just aborting saying patching failed will try it again and see exactly what the message is thanks

The error will appear just above the 'Patching Aborted' message.

Also, make sure you are running the patch as admin (right-click the patch file and click Run as administrator)

hi shane just tried again different msg this time

Existing file is damaged and cannot be patched: C:\Program Files (x86)\TrainzSimulator2009\bin\trainz.exe

ok looks a reinstall will see what happens do you happen to know the install path is it root or bin

bob

When installing TS2009 itself- any folder (usually best to stick with default)

Installing patch: needs to be the root Trainz folder (not bin or any of the subfolders)

Shane

Dont know if this will make any odds but have you made just trains an allowed site in your internet options, allowed/safe sites, also your firewall + a/v.

hi fran & shane

reinstalled and then thought whats changed with my new machine that could stop patching mmmmmmmmmm mc caffee anti virus a heads up to other users you can try and turn it off but in its wisdom it stays on only thing to do is get rid and thats done the trick all i need now is to get bloody firefox and the dls to work together and we are done thanks for your help .

cheers bob

I think there is a thread somewhere on here relating to getting Firefox to work with Trainz downloading - IE downloading, meanwhile, should set itself up the first time you run Content Manager in admin mode.

Shane

thanks shane

just remembered easy way to make firefox work is to drop a couple o cdp`s on to content manager and all should be well, just checked that worked now just the not so small 35 gig backed up local folder to do i might be some time lol
once again thanks for the help i have had a pc since the days of the 282 but even i forget sometimes.
