Sister got Malware on the computer. I removed it with free Anti-Virus, but now the Proxy on the account is out. My Dad's profile (Administrator) is messed up. I have to back up the entire computer (+ Trainz) , save it to an external hard drive I have yet to buy, and buy Anti-Virus. Once I set up the computer, install/activate Anti-Virus, then starts the second pain-staking process of filtering and added everything I backed up.

Why not try Microsoft's anti-virus utility. "Microsoft Essentials" it's free and updated daily.

If you're going to download Microsoft's Security Essentials then I would suggest you download it from Microsoft's own site, and not a 3rd party site.

It's good advice for anything you want to download if you want to avoid downloading viruses and malware.

Step 2: Run above
Step 3: Get the free version of Avast.
Step 4: Tell your sister to stop watching naughty things on the computer so that it doesn't get a virus again. ;P

Norton on sale costs me $35 per year for 3 PC's (a small price to pay for secure peace of mind).

I layer it with Threatfire antivirus, and run Malwarebytes scans

I'm back! I'm back for now! I found out that the Malware just changed proxy settings.

I'm still taking precautions to set up more RAM, and probably do more to back up. Not to mention get a real Anti-Virus subscription. No worries, we are friends with a computer geek, and he's going to chat about getting some good Anti-virus.

I have Avast. It's great. Same with Ad-Aware trial. Once it's over, it's uninstalled.
