WHOO Megaroute Problems

When I play this route the screen goes dark frequently. I do not have this problem with any other Route. And in one part of the "Mainline" west of Oakwood the track disappears leaving the bare terrain. The train keeps going so it is still there. Signals also disappear although you can still see the aspect (colour) Apart from that it,s a first class route which i,m currently modifying to improve operational performance (doubling most single line sections and adding UK locomotives and 3 extra boards. Thanks in advance.

I take it that the track & trains turns black ?

Rarely have I seen this in TRS2006:p ...

But when it did happen, it was because of a newly installed asset.

Thanks for your response. I have tried Direct X in the past but it isn't any good on my computer. I,m running 2010 now by the way.. I was also thinking along the lines of an asset in that area of the route but which one???? I have modified the route so I,m not too sure how much help CM is too a modified route.

Several months ago when I was converting the WM & B&O Mega route to Native Mode, I began trying different types of track using the Replace Assets tool in Surveyor. After installing a particular track, I experienced this identical situation in Driver. I don’t remember which track it was, but as soon as I replaced it with another, the problem disappeared.

I can’t say that the track actually caused this phenomenon, but I was relieved that it disappeared.

I eventually settled on Jointed Rail’s Terrain track, which can be found on their website.

On the WHOO Megaroute, there are lots of tree splines. I wonder if this maybe the problem. Try replacing some of the splines with actual tree objects and see if that solves the issue.

The other thing too is this could be a texture compression issue, which is caused by a driver problem with some of the NVidia graphics cards.

Try updating your video driver and see if this solves the problem.

I may have solved the problem. I ran a test loco through the affected area on WHOO as downloaded and my version both with and without locos and rolling stock. First impressions are that it is ok now. I still need to run a train over a larger area to see if the screen keeps going dark however. Ran out of time. Now I,m at work. What may have fixed it was going into CM and finding 2 or 3 earlier versions that I had deleted in the game itself but were still in CM coloured red. So I deleted those and now I have my fingers crossed! Apart from that my modified version is almost complete. Amonst the usual stuff I have a AI controlled Pullman charter running back and forwards between Oakwood and Gladston. At each end loco goes to the Steam Refuklling point for coal and water, then turns via a turning circle and finally goes into the loco siding to await the next charter. Meanwhile another steam loco comes out of the loco siding to work the charter back to Oakwood. It took me a while to work it out but I got it running smoothly in the end. Iim also going to set up something similar with the Class 55 Deltic fleet. Whoever built that deseves a medal. You can change the number, 55001-55022 and the nameplate changes as well. Not only that you can enable the fuel system
