Whistle sign placement

Ok, I would like to install some US whistle signs before a RR crossing, how far from the crossing are they placed and how can I determine the distance in trainz . Thanks for any help.

Whistle signs are placed 15 - 20 seconds travel at highest line speed from the crossing in the US. I use a unit converter tool to work out the distance in metres per second and then measure using the Surveyor ruler tool. So 70mph = 31.3 metres per second @ 20 secunds = 626 metres

I find 9 seconds to be about right. Anything less is too short. Figure 88 ft/sec=60, 44 ft/sec=30, for example; those would be 792 ft and 406 ft. A 10 M grid is about 33 ft...
