Whistle posts as scenery

Does anyone know of any whistle posts that are NOT trackside items? (ie. they do not latch to the track and act as signals).

I'm looking for North American-style signs.

I've searched the dls but haven't really come up with anything.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I believe that there is one built into TRS2004, and I would assume it's in 06. I know for a fact that Andy (Dermmy) uses it throughout his East Kentucky Route and his Clovis Sub, so if you have those just grab them from there.

You could find one you like and ask the creator if he or if he would let you change it to a scenery type item.
Just change the config setup.

I thought that I had made one, but after looking, I haven't. It would be very easy to make and would make a good beginner project for some aspiring creator. I'd be glad to make one if you have a picture of one that you like.

Trackside items don't act like signals - you need a special type called mosignal (which do also attach to the track).

It doesn't really matter what it looks like, just a simple wood plank with a "W" on it would suffice. Or a metal sign would work too. I'm not fussy!:hehe:

I'm actually just looking to add them to my UMR route.

I'd be extremely grateful if you'd be able to create something for me (and the rest of the community)

Keep us informed, and thanks for the generous offer.

As I understand it, you just want a simple scenery item that doesn't attach to the track. I'll get one whipped up and upload.

In 04 I have at least one W signal that is a scenery item: You can put it anywhere, of course in your case next to the tracks. I am sure it is in the DLS too.

Here are a few kuids of whistle posts which are just scenery items. They are all for TRS2004 or below. No need for invisible tracks etc, they are just scenery.

It seems I'm a moron too! I've been using this program for like 7 years, and I've never seen that scenery whistle sign in the F3 menu before!!!

Well, it'll be good to have additional choices once the dls is updated!!

Thanks again to all.

Its really easy....lay a piece of Invisible Track, attach the Whistle board to it and set the track to the same height as the real track, then move the I-T next to the real track. In Driver you will only see the board but it will have no effect on trains...

I did a quick version for you and uploaded to the DLS.

Hey Leefer

Just downloaded the whistle post - it's absolutely perfect looking! The only problem is that I can't find it in surveyor. What is the actual name of it so I can type it in?
Thankyou for your time and assistance!
