Which British diesel in Trainz do you like?

Rubbish

my Favourite is the class 150... sprinters rock! catch em on the snow hill lines before turbo stars come and take over
I really hate the Sprinters. They are noisy uncomfortable and slow. The Turbo stars are a much better bet and a long over-due replacment. the sprinters were outdated from day 1. The only decent ones were the SWT converted 159's but they only improved by 10mph.

Australians do not pay any money to the Queen, either for personal income or to support the royal residences outside of Australia. Only when the Queen is in Australia, or acting abroad as Queen of Australia, does any Australian government support her in the performance of her duties. This rule applies equally to other members of the Royal Family.

You mean these funny looking apparitions suspiciously looking like a Dr. Who TV series set backdrop item? :p

Just kidding but you Poms sure have some, lets say, somewhat "strange" looking machinery on your tracks there. Give me some of the US of A diesels anytime, what about some F7-F9, SD40-2, Amtrak p42, SD 70 Ace, C44-W9 and the daddy of them all, the ES44 among some other fine diesels they build.

Or even some of the Australian diesels (although build with US supplied parts). Among some of these like our CLP/CLF Classes, 44 Class-DL500 Alcos, DL Class, AN Class, EL Class, NR Class and one of our newest, the LDP Class:

plus many more in other countries too.

Don't get stuck into me for speaking my mind, after all remember the question asked by the OP? Well, here is my answer, whether you like it or not :p.

At least you Poms are currently good at cricket :hehe:.

Cheers

G'day!

I AM SORRY! I just have to agree with VinnyBarb. AUSTRALIAN PRIDE!

Cheers! :)

VinnyBarb, that LDP looks similar to our old class 58's, only we put a cab on each end to save having to turn it. :)

Wow Blackwatch that is a rare picture, I've never seen a class 58 in EWS livery before, it looks massive, I've only seen them in the Railfrieght grey livery, that is a superb picture...

Similar? The cab looks like a garden shed where one places garden utensils. Why can't the Poms build aesthetically/good looking locomotives? These cabs there might be functional but...

Similar as most british cars that where build in the past.

Check some of the old Austins, Morris, Wolseley, the 3 wheeler Reliand, Land Rover (well, sort of), Standard Vanguard, Hillman, Humber, Sunbeam, Talbot, Jovett, any of the Leylands, the Simcas sold by the Rootes group, even the old Mini etc. and compared these to the older Chevs (59 Biscayne, 56 a classic!, 61, 62 models,) Fords (Fairlane, Falcon, Thunderbird, any of the Mustangs, Camaros and Corvettes) , some european cars etc. and you will see what I mean.

Similar like the old british motor bikes like Ariel, AJS, BSA, Matchless, Bantam, Norton, Royal Enfield, Triumph etc. These more or less stayed similar/the same for years on end in looks and engineering, hence some of these went broke. Give me any older BMW, even a russian Cossack, any of the older models of Ducati, Gilera (well, there are some classics), MV Augusta, Laverda, Motto Guzzi, even the Piaggio and Vespa scooters, some Hondas and early Kawasakis (Kwaka 900 anyone?) etc. anytime in looks and performance.

Sad really isn't it, makes one want to cry in his/her beer :hehe:.

Having said the above, then just to prove me wrong, they came up with classics like the E Type Jaguar, well any Jags look classic, Healey sportscar, McLaren etc. So all is not lost yet, there might still be some hope left :p.

Cheers

Returning to the theme of the thread I tend to like the quirky and exotic so in Trainz I like (apart from obviously the Deltics) the NBL 600 class Warships, the Metrovick Co-Bos and NBL prototype 10800.
There was one guy built a Class 15 for Trainz in Brass finish and he sent me a Beta version but he never finished it....who was he? I think he also did a Class 14.

Well Guys, I lived through the 50's and 60's in UK and have been pulled by a Deltic who was trying to make up time ........ awesome. I have been pulled by a Western Class Type 4 who chose the bottom of the Severn Tunnel to "notch her up" ...... incredible sound. I have watched Type 4 "Peaks" blasting around the curve through Wellingborough and Kettering Stations, and had an all expenses paid ride in the Western Blue Pullman ...... love them all. Over here, hearing (and feeling) a couple SD40's accelerating out of a yard is quite impressive ............ hearing a "6-pack" working hard gives me goose bumps however, standing on a bridge while they go under you is unforgettable.... not to mention rather hot!!!! Then there are the old Alcos!!!! Just gotta luv 'em.

Regards to all diesel lovers. Colin.

Paul Hobbs built the class 15, Pikkabird the class 14:) - both are excellent but still unfinished though.

BTW obviously my favourite Trainz diesel is the class 06, looks small but sounds awesome!!
