Which British diesel in Trainz do you like?

Narrow minded Tram Person
Now I am asking a question that even I find hard to answer.

Where do i start .....

Lets see the shunters some with the direction lights that can be set to either mainline or shunt, the 07 with its directional lights. then there is the 08/09/13 classes that sound great as well but I think I like the cab of the maunsell shunter the best.

Next the Class 1's there is only the 15's that britian did not like but the design was very popular in Australia and US and the poor Claytons.

The Class 2's there is so many of the classes that are done, some very well scripted and config options, but I do like the 26's from the Highlands and the Deltic engines on the 23's

The Class 3's like the class 2's there is many classes done ans well scripted and config options . I do like the 31's but rather the 33's. I did do something intresting renumbered 37306 to 37303 and changed the engines from the RK270T to the MB275T I found on DLS

The Class 4's there is also many of these like the other's well scripted as well. the cabs on the 47's are just great and those little Warships

Class 5's Do like the western's, was not able to download 55's Deltics into TC as they come up red in Trainz,

I'm noty really into the latter classes.

Well this might start a little discussion at least.

Witch British diesal in Trainz do you like?

Do you mean 'Which British diesel do you like ?'

Where do i start .....

Well you start by using English, or if you are illiterate, you use a 'spell checker'.
As for the rest of it (which I couldn't be bothered to try & decipher), it all depends on personal preferences.
Different people like different things, Deltics are a big love of mine, but there are lots of other classes, both diesel & steam, that I like just as much.

Class 5's Do like the western's, was not able to download 55's Deltics into TC as they come up red in Trainz,

As lovely as they are, the westerns are type 4s, not type 5s, for most of the BR era the deltic was the only type 5 (excluding kestrel, of course). It wasn't until the late 70s when the need for a big freight loco for MGR coal working and the 56s came along that we had a second type 5. Then of course the 58 (which is essentially just a 56 in a modular format) and then the 59 and 60 in the 80s and 66 and 67 in the 90s, and 70 for the 2000s.

I find it amusing that a large number of fans deride the 59 and onwards (largely because of the american heritage of everything but the 60), yet they are large powerful locomotives that the fans would have gone crazy over if they'd all been british built in the 1960s and 1970s.

We deride them because they should have been built in this country.
We had the knowledge, the works, the workforce & the money to build them here, but the government decided to kill off another great British institution & give the work to our "special relationship" friends, the yanks.
More money & skills gone from our country, just to feed the very people who were so slow to help us in our (as Churchill put it) "Hour of need", then had the bloody nerve to charge us an arm & a leg, for a fleet of worn out rust bucket destroyers, that couldn't sink a paper bag.
We've only just finished paying back the millions that our so called 'Allies' charged us, now our government thinks it's cheaper to buy their over priced crap & ship it hundreds of miles across the sea, than build them here !!!!!

Bloody madness.

The 59' 66's and 67's where purchased because they wanted a product that worked as soon as it hit the rails and kept on working .

The 60's had a 1000 + modifications done to them after building just to get them to work correctly .

As for the current state of the class 60 fleet there is only one major supplier of spare parts .... BRUSH and they decided to bump up the price on the spare parts as they consider them obsolete . That is why so many 60's have been cannibalised to keep the others running .

Meanwhile the 59-67's use a vast range of ready available cheap parts that are found in use on numerous other loco's in the US .

British industry could not build a loco that was comparable to what was available from across the pond . Those American loco's have been the backbone of the modern privatised railway for over 10 years and I think that the railway would of been in a lot worse state than it is now .

Yes Nexus, you are correct, but ..........................

It has done sweet fanny adams for British industry, where are the next generation of engineers going to come from ?
Giving our cash to the yanks has only gone to line the pockets of a few rich foreigners, instead of keeping Britains employed & training the future engineers of this country through apprentiships.
The Thatcher years were good for those who owned the wealth, they did nothing to further this countries well being.
Tony B. Liar followed her policies with 'New Labour' (a mis-named party if there ever was one) aka 'New Tory'.

Did you forget to spell check that one? - apprenticeships is the correct spelling of the word, I believe.

The best looking UK diesel in my opinion is the Midland Blue Pullman set.

Happy New Year.

Are you forgetting

Hi everyone,
I think you are forgetting probably the most famous DEMU ( Diesel express mutiple unit ) of the 80's. Step forward the class 43 or more commonly known The InterCity 125 and the class 9's its brother the InterCity 225 or the Class 91 :hehe:

No, that was just tiredness, 22 hours (approx) without sleep.

If we are talking about "only in Trainz".

Then the Midland Pullman is excellent, cabview very pleasing.

Most freeware diesels do not have decent cabviews.

Even some of the payware cabs are iffy.

I like the 66 in Trainz and the prototype.

There are lots of good diesel models in Trainz, but alas they lack convincing cabviews or sounds.

Of those i enjoy the 47's, 31's, Deltics & 37's.

Yeah, true, with most diesels, UK or not, they look great from the outside but the cab view and sounds lack big time.

I totally agree with you, the Class 43's have been around for years and have worn various livery's, the origional blue and white will always be the best, built in Britain and still the best, it'll be a very sad day when these HST sets leave our rails forever, long live the HST...

The class 43

I really agree, the HST's are an awe inspiring sight. In fact i was lucky enough to see one yesterday at Leicster station. Sadly as the newest are 27 years old, the goverment is replacing them with the Voyager class (220 & 221). It will be really sad when the worlds best train dissapears. Uracco:(

Australians do not pay any money to the Queen, either for personal income or to support the royal residences outside of Australia. Only when the Queen is in Australia, or acting abroad as Queen of Australia, does any Australian government support her in the performance of her duties. This rule applies equally to other members of the Royal Family.
