Where's my drivers?

Another strange happening in 22pe. I have 6 locos placed in surveyor and when I go into drive the session there's only 3 locos listed with drivers in them. I have to assign drivers in the remaining locos every time I go to drive the session. Started doing this last week. Will the strange things in 22 ever stop? Very frustrating.

The obvious question to ask is what are your Driver Setup Rule settings?

I normally have the options:-
  • Remove all existing Drivers first - set OFF
  • Generate new Drivers for empty trains - set ON
  • (don't forget to Save after exiting the Session Editor)
and never have that problem

The interesting question is after 20 years with trainz this problem never existed. I place a loco in surveyor, save before exiting and when I went into drive a session the loco's had engineers. 3 of the 6 locos that I placed originally came with engineers and don't have to add drivers each time I run the session. I've never set or had to set up driver rules. The locos came with a driver when it was placed in surveyor.

In my experience there has been the odd occasion in past versions/builds where this has happened. But with all the session testing that I am currently doing in the latest builds of Trainz Plus and TRS22PE I have yet to experience it again.

It did happen, but it would put drivers in engines that you did not use for running a schedule. It meant having to remove drivers from engines that were in sheds or laid up.

In an earlier Trainz Plus build (pre SP5) I occasionally found a new driver or two appearing that did not have any locos assigned them (there were none available). That has not occurred (so far) in SP5.

The question remains is why when I pick a loco in surveyor and it does show the driver, and it's placed somewhere on the layout and saved before exiting and then when I go into drive the session the driver is not in the locomotive. Every time now I have to assign a driver to whatever loco I previously put in surveyor when I'm in drive session mode. Like I've stated a week ago I never had this problem until now. A bug of some kind?

Are you placing the locomotives (consists) in the route or in a session? According to N3V, trains need to be placed in a session and not on the route.
