Where are my trees gone?

Check how many types of speed tree you have on the route, I think once over 12 you can't place another type, to delete/place a tree check your in the route layer and running as admin. Trees don't disappear in 2010, 2012 SP 1 only.

The oddity is, I can add a TON of different ones in one editing session before they disappear (in the Objects window, not the layout itself). But last night, I did not add a single tree until I had done some work on the freight car workshop area in North Chicago, and the very first tree I tried to add at that time wouldn't let me. That, and the irritating flashing buildings (all built-in TRS10 ones, to boot), prove frustrating but at least there are workarounds.

Is that 12-tree limit the max you can put on the layout? Or just how many at a time?

You can have a million trees on a route but only a certain number of types, once you reach that limit trainz stops the addition of any more. But you can still add trees of the type you already have on the route.

Just checked I have over 40 types in one area and never had a problem, I'm using mainly pofigs.

Well one year later and N3V still hasn't fixed the issue. I run an ATI card, was plopping along building a route placing trees in full-screen mode when suddenly all my speedtrees vanished!

Please, please, please fix this. It's a game breaker! I can't make layouts without being able to place trees. You make it so we can't use the old trees, that worked fine, then give us this new buggy system that allows you to place enough to cover half of a small urban park!

At one time or another ALL but a choice few trees were cut down in Pennsylvania, severe erosion took place, and most of the topsoil washed away, leaving what remains today in most forests "Scrubby Scrawney Schwubs & Weed Twees".

Maybe it was illegal lumberjacks, blight, or gypsy moth caterpillars, who decimated your forest ?

Consider yourself lucky if all your "Speed Twees" were sprayed with Trainz herbicide, or cut down ... Most built in ones are the most horrible abomination ever created in Twainz !
