When will we get this level of scenery for Trainz ???

One of the things about Trainz is that the level of detail is primarily up to the user. If it looks like crap, it's because the assets used are old/rubbish, and the user didn't do a very good job. If it looks great, kudos to them.

Oh about ten versions BEFORE T:ANE....

Really, the funny thing is the bottom video is dated but still far ahead of any "realistic" acting vehicles I have seen on Tane or is just me that in Tane they just drive around on invisible track and do nothing...............yeah and that first vid, boy that police car looks like dated crap alright. all the way down to the wheels and lights..............it must be nice living in a dream..........................if you see what's being done today in other rail sims you would be asking yourself the same question as to why Trainz has the most unrealistic vehicles for a modern sim................but hey your absolutely right..Tane's cars and trucks are years ahead of EEP....................nothing like wearing blinders.......

And I forgot that TANE has this ability but for some reason I can't seem to locate it.........of course the below was out in 2014............still can't seem to find the self loading TOFC in the 2017 Tane.............

Lastly....here's a concept..........passing vehicles....and blinkers that work.....the only reason you see "dated" versions is because the newest one was just released last month. All these vids show a level of interactivity that continues to evolve with each new release.............dated or not the realistic actions are way ahead of the curve.......

TANE is a railroad simulator. Not a car one.

TANE's traffic can look better if a user (i.e. Third Party, i.e. Someone like YOU) made them look better. N3V develop us a platform, not the content.

Really..............show me a route or layout that offers the detailed interactivity with vehicles you see in these vids...............you fail to realize there is a separate programming language just for the vehicles besides the trains in EEP...Tane unfortunately does not offer that level of "activity" or "program ability" at this time...hopefully in the future...........and before everyone jumps on about the "dated graphics" watch the trailer for the newest, version (EEP 14 expert) trains and scenery are extremely improved

Well head on over to the EEP 14 expert forum and carry on there, I'd much rather N3V get Tane right for Trains before worrying about cars and traffic.

Spot on.

This is exactly the type of thing Trainz Native Interface will be capable of in the future. Meanwhile, there are some pretty awesome cars and trucks out there for Trainz, and I'm not sure of the standars for EEP, but perhaps you can convince someone to convert their content to Trainz (which should mostly require just a config file and perhaps some material tweaks for future Trainz).

Oh forgive me for not liking cars running over the sides of layouts or better yet through trainz as they pass a crossing, your right, don't worry about the stuff that makes it look ridiculous...and takes away any realism factor it had going....and as for heading over to the EEP forum this post was to illustrate what can be done with a train sim ... [not needed nor asked for comments removed] ...I am proud of what I have contributed to this product and turned so so layouts into polished gems bringing out the true capacity of Trainz....my work speaks for itself .so don't tell me what to do when I make only a suggestion to make a good product a great one........

if you want to bury your head in the sand by all means do so....maybe you should see the effort I put into Trainz before making a snap judgement...or make some layouts or mods like I have....you realize how many hours it takes to craft a layout with the detail I put into it......????

Well I'll tell you what next time you make one of your layouts and you use a SW1200 in various skin's I've seen you use think about the time spent making content for a Train Sim cause i made that along with quite a few scenery item's, Get off your high horse.

Could not have said it better myself.
For example, a simple object will not be "lifelike" just because it is used in TANE ;).

Tony,

EEP has been around since 1998-99, The main difference between this and Trainz or TS2017 is that EEP has a completely programmable language for vehicles as well as the trains which is why you see them performing extremely realistic actions vs what Trainz or other Train sims offer. As each new version comes out, more advancements and realistic movements / features are added. A good comparison is comparing Marklin Trains to say US model trains...they were always way more advanced and came out with cutting edge features before we caught up such as DCC for instance and uncomplex wiring for turnouts and other track types. EEP offers cars and trucks with working blinkers, realistic headlights and animated actions that reflect there real life counterparts.....Also it more comparable to TMR17 then say TANE because it is a model railroad simulator more so then routes although you will find those as well. These features add a new realism to the "Standard" layout......I truly hope Trainz will be able to incorporate a similar system for its vehicles.....

Not on a high horse mate and if you read any of my threads I always mention thanks to the creators of the items I use for the modded layouts but you would know that before jumping to conclusions as you seem to do if you did indeed read my threads.......funny though, I don't think I used any of your material in any of my mods, of course I could be wrong................and was, I do believe I used a BNSF SW1200 by you but that is an item not included in my mods for DL or I would have given a shout out.............(still nice work though). And if it were not for the creators of such items I use I could not achieve the level of detail that I have with my mods.....as well as the initial layout designers who I also thank in my threads for creating track plans that allow me to do what I do best...detailing.............honestly I stink at actual layout track / route building/design but have an eye for detail when I see a track plan I can use..........

It has nothing to do with "looking better" it has to do with the behavior of the vehicles acting realistic..EEP is not a car simulator...it is a model rr sim like TMR17 that has extremely realistic vehicles which Tane/TMR17 only has in static form..again show me anything similar to these vids that Tane or TMR17's vehicles can do besides look good as a static or loop moving..........and for your information scenery which vehicles fall under are part of a railroad simulator just as are the buildings and trees..........

Really makes sense to have realistic looking and acting trains and then have cars crash over the edge or through a train as it continues to the other side....................yes very realistic indeed...I guess we shouldn't weather the trains either because everyone wants that shiny "new" finish as well............

And i'm saying it would just be great if they could get the railroad sim part of it right first before they start trying to get scenery sim part of it looking better, For me this has always been a great hobby but it is now near on impossible to create for the sim unless you have a uni degree christ knows what it will be like in future versions where cars do the right thing also in game.

I mainly use TMR17 and have hardly any issues with the actual trains other then the time out bug which will now be addressed thanks to Tony, what are your issues with it as a train sim ?
