What's N3V working on?

Oh yeah :clap: 3D :Y: :n: God I hope not, I'm just crackin in to 12 and this addiction is expen$ive. Just started building a new rig to handle this one. But then again the kid-before-christmas in me can't wait to see what's in the box:hehe: I guess it's true that in some ways ya just never grow up - the toys just get more expensive

Well, there seems to be an extension to the left of the TS12 stop on our station list, so one can only wonder what they're up to. If they follow the rest of current [American] media.. Trainz 3D might be on the horizon!

"Yay! 3D!" Thats the sound of some cheap marketing if you ask me. I'm only interested in 3D for the first five minutes of a movie, after that I begin to think that I probably could have saved more money if I just watched the original.

3D is alright, but it wont be staying around for long as a popular "new" thing. I don't think N3V should invest much time and money in 3D because it's only popular for a very short while. TRAINZ is been the sort of product that is popular for a long period of time.

If anything, I'm keen for new DLC. It would be nice to see LNER Mallard up there, with some A4's in various liveries in the download. Or perhaps a large set of shunting engines? A single 0-6-0 Shunter by itself wouldnt be worth much, but if they made a large number of them and put them together, I would definately buy it.

At this point in the cycle, I would expect they are working on the next release of the game

I sure hope you mean "patch" with "release" and not a TS14 or whatever.

9 (?) months after introducing TS12 they beter be working on getting the basic "save and reload session" to work (and what was that other big problem... merging big maps?) plus maybe a few suggested new functions as icing on the cake instead of (already) wasting a lot of time on a new version.

C'mon Ed, nearly 500 posts only a little over 2 weeks since you reached the 10,000. What's that, a thousand posts a month? At that rate, 15,000 isn't very far off.

I hope that if they upgrade the forum software, they at least keep the current smileys, and maybe even add to them.

Like Ed (Euphod) I’ve just checked out the latest Newsletter containing the tantalising few details thus far revealed on the run up to the planned Forum changes.

Particularly noteworthy perhaps was the phrase, “... more...areas for community members to express themselves”.

Ed, do not pass up this opportunity. I’m sure you’ll find many members who will wholeheartedly support you in building up the confidence to post much more frequently!

I'm curious as to what aspects of the forums need to be upgraded as I dont see anything wrong with it right now.

Though, a system that automatically checks words and phrases and then links them to keyworded files on the DLS would be kinda cool (E.G, type in "I like the LNER Mallard" in the message box and when you post it, the system changes the "Mallard" name to be a link to a broad link file search for "Mallard" on the DLS)

Or maybe their implementing a fast multiplayer search where you can start TRAINZ multiplayer through the forum (By creating a party which then loads into TRAINZ and the host selects a map).

Though this is all speculation and quite probably not going to happen. Any other thoughts?
