What Train Engines do you usally see in your town/city?

Usually DC's (locomotive) SA/SD's (passenger cars) DX's DFT's (locomotives) (sometimes)
and the like... oh yeah... ADL/ADC/ADB/ADK (The ones after ADL and ADK are trailer cars) (They're passenger ones, we use 3'6" narrowgauge here)

In my city, I see DELs: 2300s, 1720s, 2400s, 2470s, 2100s, 2170s, 2800s.

On the line I live, I don't see any diesels (Did once upon a time), just EMUs and SMUs.

Gee, let's see...

I have operated (with CN out of Edmonton, AB Canada) some of the following...

GE ES44DC (CN 2200 series)
EMDI SD70M-2 (CN 8000 series)
GMDD SD70I/SD75I (CN 5600 to 5800)
GE Dash9-44 CWL (CN 2500 to 2727)

And a lot of other lower HP stuff, like SD60F's, SD40-2w's...right down to 1200 HP GMD1 switchers.

I have worked the mainline as an engineer (or driver, if you prefer) from Melville SK to Jasper AB...not all on the same shift, mind you!

Also have operated on VIA's 'Canadian' between Edmonton and Jasper AB. I'd rather bring 100 cars of bulk sulphur (in excess of 14,000 short tons) down a 2.8 percent grade out of Ram River AB

Ken.

FGLK GP9s, B23-7s U23-Bs
LA&L C424s C425s, and the ultimently rare Ex. CP M-630, which i happened to see for the first time just yesterday.
Cheers,
Sean

mostly Dash-9's, ES44AC, SD70's, GP's, etc..... Road names are varied, since here in Jonesboro, Arkansas we have a UP/BNSF crossing. I've seen NS, KCS, CSX, CN, and a lot of others. Even saw a Illinois Central roll thru here a few months ago. Can't imagine what it was doing here!

CSX, NS, I&O, and Amtrak.

SD40-2's, Dash 8's, ACE's, SD70's of all types. There is a unpatched Southern Pacific SD45T-2 or something like that, I always see it doing local swichting, not sure who owns it.

Portland & Western GP39-2's (bought from ATSF and repainted), SD45's, SD9's (old SPs), B23-7's and an occassional GP9 or FP45. The FP45 kinda looks like it used to be an ATSF too, but not totally sure. The P & W has pretty much all used locos, so there's a pretty interesting mix of engines that go by here.

ps: back from LOOOOONG haitus :o

Metra F40PHs (Ex-C&NW Line), and the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern has a local that runs through my backyard that's usually pulled by an EMD GP38-2. Periodically, I'll see some GEs on the Union Pacific, and there's periodically an ex-Southern Pacific or ex-Chicago and Northwestern patch unit on it.

Ditto :) Although I also see UP coal trains, and some misc trains as well.

I forgot comment you that eventually some sd70´s or dash´s from BNSF or UP are comming to the south to support ferromex trains.

In my town it's mostly Providence & Worcester B39-8s, U23Bs, GP38/40s, but sometimes I get lucky and see a CSX locomotive, or an ex susquehanna locomotive.

Could you post a pic of the Super-7, for some reason I think it looks like the rail runner.
