OK, not sure where to put this but it appears the forum has been hacked, possibly for malicious purposes. I've just logged on and I keep seeing random links in the text, and every so often I'll get a pop up ad too. This problem is apparent in all browsers on my PC, and I've ran a quick McAfee scan which found nothing (having said that, it never does!) so I am forced to assume the problem is with the forum, not the computer itself.
An unfortunate side effect of this is it takes ages to type (it's taken me about 10 minutes just to write this message!) so I would appreciate some sort of reassurance to what is going on.

Suggest you check your PC as there is nothing wrong with the forum. Full malware scan with something other than Mcafee.

UPDATE - Ran Adware remover, rebooted PC, issue seems to have disappeared and my PC is running a lot faster! Smiles all round :)

I´d recommend another virusscanner and Malwarebytes.... Everythings fine here, too.
Yep, you might as well have nothing to have McAfee. I've replaced McAfee on two different clients computers in recent months and both times the new AV software has picked up viruses McAfee didn't even know was there. McAfee wouldn't be the first programme I would recommend that's for sure.

I did find it coincidental, I ran into a problem with Chrome browser crashing on the forums, yesterday. My symptom was I loaded up the "New Posts", and then one at a time, right-click each new item I'm interested in, select open in new tab. The first three or four seemed okay, but then I got the crashed Chrome folder face and dark page. I closed all the crashed pages, and tried to continue opening others. Ended up closing the browser, and tried all over again, but it crashed just upon opening. Uninstalled, reinstalled, problem gone. Weird stuff.

If you have an Nvidia Graphics card it could be a driver related issue, the last I think couple of drivers have apparently been causing random crashes of Chrome as well as game crashes and a few other problems according the Nvidia forums, they have just released a beta hotfix driver which presumably will fix these issues.

On a sidenote, you can click on your mousewheel, saves a lot of time.

I got some crashes with Crome until I unabled hardware acceleration. Might be worth a try.
