I only got the BDRV this section of the line is currently abandoned. But there's plans to re-open it for their steam locomtoiveit's ex PRR, than became Penn central, than Conrail, than sold to a private individual and became the BDRV
brand new X-ing but no rail activity lol

Is this the line south of the current EOT? I remember when the line was open all the way down to Trenton. It's too bad the PC abandoned it. It would be nice to bring that end of the line back to life.

Here in the former coal regions of PA, I believe it's Canadian Pacific. Now if you go back 50 years...
Lehigh Valley, Erie Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, Delaware & Hudson, Central New Jersey, New York Ontario & Western and Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley. There might be one or two that I missed.

I like researching all the old railroad lines that are no longer in existance, and bring them back to life in Trainz. Walking the 1897 railbed of the old Wopsy RR in Altoona Pa, has made that, and the Muleshoe Curve Secondary my present projects. Some others are several coal/timber brach lines around Altoona Pa, as wel as the Allleghenny Portage 14 Inclined Planes, and the Johnstown Flood Areas. If anyone needs help with finding topos and getting them into basemaps, I will be glad to assist. I love Railroad history.
Besides the PRR Horseshoe Curve 1920's Altoona to Johnstown route I am working on, The Britsh Columbia-Kicking Horse Pass-Spiral Loops Tunnels that are also in the works.
Most of the present RR's in my area are much too modern for my likings, and I am trying to replicate the ones in my area, back to the 1920's era (Steam).
I like all the new huge powerful modern locos of today. Some of the newest creations are real smokers too, with super sound effects !...but give me a U50C, UP Gas To Steam Turbine, DD40X or a Steamer...and, WOO WOO they are fun objects ! Some long gone narrow gauge lines in Pa history are equally facinating.
Fact: The most written about subject (volumes of books...etc) in the world is "The Civil War", second to that is about History of RR's !

The Amtrak is on the Canadian National/Illinois Central mainline and the E-W line closest to the elevator is the Union Pacific and the E-W to the south is the CSX.

The closest recorded railroad to my Hood is the Sumpter valley RR, even if it is over forty miles as the crow flies, but there has been a shay found about ten miles away up in the mountains there, unfortunately it has never been found again since; many small mills were set up with small logging RR, then moved when the mill moved. Many places you can see the ghost rail beds throughout the forests of Eastern Oregon!

In Muskegon, Michigan, USA...
We have a local shortline in operation called Michigan Shore Rail Road that services Nugent Sand and a few other small industries. They seem to be running a lot of Grand Rapids Rail Road engines these days though. Most of the consists are CSX with a few old Cheesie System hoppers still floating around. MSRR connects to the CSX lines somewhere past Grand Haven... maybe Holland. Unfortunately, the railroad lines in my home town of Whitehall (and Montague), Michigan were tore out and replaced by a bike trail. *sighs*
What we would see in Whitehall when the tracks were still there (They serviced Dupont Chemical, and Hooker Chemical when they were open and the OLDER line serviced a few sawmills in the lumber days) were C&O, which was replaced by Cheesie System, Which was replaced by CSX, Which was replaced by bikes...

I live near Tampa and we have CSX and Amtrak. The CSX phosphate trains go right by my house several times a day. The Amtrack runs a few miles away to and from Tampa Union Station. We also have a newer street car line downtown that is more of a novelty than anything. I don't think it covers enough ground to actually serve commuters. I do occasionally see some interesting power on the CSX trains though. Within the last few months I have seen modern power (dash 9 looking locos, but I'm not Mr. Loco I.D. guru) from BNSF, CN, and UP. I'm not sure exactly how that works, if they rent them or what. That is something I would like to know more about. Further north in Jacksonville you can see FEC and NS but I haven't gone there just to railfan yet. There is also a central Florida line but I don't remember the name and haven't seen them aside from Youtube. If anyone knows any more in my area or good places to railfan please le me know. CSX also has a street run right through downtown Tampa on Polk St. but I have not seen that aside from Youtube either.

All we have is the main east-west route along I-20. Comes out of Fort Worth, Texas, and goes West out to California.
Have around 10 consists each way per day. Big switching yard down the road about 35 miles.
Abilene still has an old depot that has been refurbished, T&P Depot. I'll post photos of it this weekend.

I have a subway running close by, and a few blocks down you meet ther Long Island Rail Road. In the yard the L.I.R.R. passes through you can see New Jersey Transit trains and Amtrak trains waiting or leaving.
To be specific: Acela, NJT, Amtrak, LIRR, and the LIRR double deck Montauk service.

In Austin, Texas, USA, we have the Union Pacific and the Austin Western RR (http://www.watcocompanies.com/Railroads/AWRR/AWRR main page.htm). BNSF also has trackage rights on some of UP's tracks in the area.
Amtrak's Texas Eagle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Eagle) stops in Austin, and once in a while we get a visit from UP's steam program (http://www.upsteam.com/index.html#index). I got to see the 844 a few years ago, which was a real treat.
