Ramblin' Man..
I have a general question for everyone. What happened to the old ways of the forums? I remember that when I first started I didn't even read the rules, or anything and almost got banned, (even though I did twice that is a completely different topic). I want to know what happened to the old, kind and welcoming way of the forums?

When I first started I was a complete fricken idiot. I was typing,LIKE THIS, FULL CAPS ALL THE TIME. However I was taken in by one kind soul, and that person is now one of my best friends. His username here is UP4021. He is honestly the prime example of the perfect human being, and he showed me the way the forums, *in my opinion* should be. I know now that even if somebody even quotes a picture some people just blow up at that person. Or if some new person asks where something comes from they get yelled at and get told to find it themselves.

I want to call all the people that remember the old way of the forums and see if that peaceful time can't be found yet again. I sadly do not see this happening any time soon, I have figured out pretty much all I need for myself. However I worry for the new joiners. I mean if this continues I can see nobody new wanting to join and get trainz. I mean after all we are talking about a place to talk and ask about a damn game. It is a game not a job. Some people have made it their jobs, and I am not going to say there is anything wrong with that. However yelling at a new comer is not the way to go. So what if someone accidentally quotes a picture or two, so what if someone types in all caps. Yelling at them to me is not the best way to get the point across.

I want everyone to know that if they have a question about a particular piece of content, or what I am using in my screenshots, I am always open to questions. I do not bite, I am just a friendly person here on the forums willing to help any new person here. So if some new person here reads this, and you have questions about the forums, or content, or anything, you can PM me. \

I want to ask, is there anyone here that agrees with me that the forums should be open to new comers and be willing to help them? Is there anyone who actually believes in the old way of the forums? Is there anyone who still goes by the old way of the forums? Is there anyone out there, you should be recognized by the forums, and you should be known for new people to come to if they need assistance.

I think that most of the time, forum members are helpful. Unfortunately, like any other place, there are a few a$$h0I3$ on here who think they are better than anyone else and are always looking for something in a post that will give them a chance to jump down somebody's throat or make a snide or hurtful comment. It's sad, too, not only because they are like that, but because they don't even realize that everyone else KNOWS they are a$$h0I3$. Some people just like the sound of their own voice (or post) but that's the internet for you. Many of them probably have low self-esteem or they are trying to hide their fear behind aggressiveness.

I for one would never intentionally say anything to try to demean a newcomer. Heck, they're the future of Trainz because a lot of us old timers won't be around here forever. We need to keep them interested in the game.

Eh. Gimme pigs, stupid repetitive questions, spam, and ignorance usually get on people's nerves and make for a rather hostile environment. However, there are some Deadhead's here who enjoy infuriating others and that's just life.

uve matured a hell of a lot since you started out here taylor (y) And i agree, but its a community ur gonna get a real mix of personalities here and i guess u just learn to accept them

Before this one gets out of hand, as they always do, I'm locking this.

Threads such as this really don't help, beyond having turning into a flamewar or 'personal attack' war...

As it is, from this side anyway, the forums have not really changed that much in the last 5+ years. Some people have left, others have matured, others have returned, and many have discovered the forums for the first time. Most members on our forums are helpful, however some are less so, this is the same as any other forum though...

Regards
