Hi Ron,

I once downloaded a Route by Zec which was DEM based and saw the same thing. Some of the drops/holes were in the middle of open land areas with no tracks etc near them.

I asked him about it and he said it was a known bug that the programers are looking at but have no answer yet.

So at the moment the only help I can give is to manually fix the obvious ones and maybe leave the others as they are. You could maybe hide some under buildings etc.

EDIT: This occurred in 2010 and showed in both Surveyor and Driver (from memory).

Hope this helps,

Craig

They aren't a merge problem, those are so-called 'bomb craters', they are a known issue and are a 'feature' of the 'Replace Asset' tool when used on ground textures.

After the textures are swapped the route-builder should check for any 10m square black areas and re-texture them before saving. If the route is saved with the black 'smudges' they become drop-to-zero-elevation craters on the saved route. There is no fix at that stage apart from terrain/texture manipulation in Surveyor - where they do show, they are just darn hard to see...

Sorry misterchugg, I steered you in the wrong direction. I was thinking of another issue that affects the edges of baseboards after merging. Thanks for picking that up , Dermmy. Regards.
