What a rip off! Unbelievable....

I just installed TS2010. Started the game and loaded my current route and session (after a struggle to find out the list of routes).

My map does not have one texture, many of the assets are in read, useless. Is this a software from a serious conpany or from a bunch of crooks?

How is it possible that an existing saved route/session is not cleanly loaded on a supposedly more advanced version of the game?

What are my options? start all over again to re-build my route? I don't think so. That company Auran should be sued for stealing customer money and giving back a useless product.

Maybe I should laugh instead. Look at their standard US signals in red! hahahaha No one signal is now operable.

No worth spending more time trying to run this garbage.

Open a ticket? for what? if they won't pay attention to tickets.

Customer support? where? how? is there any one at that company willing to help? yes, to make your pocket lighter.

That is far from normal. Try upgrading your video card drivers. Old video card drivers can cause all sorts of problems, including causing built-in assets to be faulty due to database access errors. I learned that the hard way. You could also try the database repair options in CMP or a reinstall. (You can try installing on top of the old install and then try uninstalling.) Something obviously went very wrong with your install. Even my troubles didn't cause uninstall problems.

Aside from that, only thing I can think of is that something you added to Trainz screwed things up very badly.

Edit: Also, from that second pic it looks like you're running Win7, you may already have done this, but you should install using run as administrator and may need to run the program that way too.

Edit2: Nevermind that last edit, now I see what that Win7 reference was. Though that advice is true for Vista too.

With the uninstall problem, this method will not work as I tried it with 2009 when the same file was corrupted and you can not "over" install the program.

What I had to do was to DELETE the folder that 2009 was in (C:\program files\auran\2009) and then use a Registry Cleaner to clean up my Register, then I reinstalled 2009 and every thing worked fine. I could even uninstall again as I had too for another reason.

Hope this helps, even though not with your major problem at least in this little way.

Hopefully some one will be along soon who may be able to help further with your main problem.

Hi,
I can't help your issue, but submitting tickets does not cost money, all you have to pay for is the game. No offence, but it is a logical mistake that lots of people make.
TS2010 is the newest game in the Trainz series, right?
Before I asked my aunty to get it for christmas, i looked at the TS2010 forums. Many had complaints about bugs and mishaps:eek: , so I chose TS2009, a year older, and more stable, still same great gameplay:) .
This is a common mistake in society, look at what happened to railways in general. Steam was more reliable and simpler than diesel in the early days, but diesel was newer. So they started phasing out steam with diesel, now, there are more diesels that you can poke a stick at:hehe: and steam still is simpler. They do work better now, but what gets me they chose age over reliability.

No offence, but it a common mistake in society.

Hi,

1 question, though ..

1. Was it a route that you created using a previous version of trainz?

Now, to uninstalled you MUST now install and run a registry cleaner -- there's a few out there like in "cnet" for free or ... just type free registry cleaner!

I do wish you luck -- I know how frustrating it could be!!

To answer Ish6, yes, it was a route I have been working on for Ts2009.

I tried to repair database and guess what?

17.000+ errors! is this fair? isn't this an assault?
shame on those sloppy "programmers". They better go to shepperd kangaroos.

Like I said previously, update your video drivers. I got that kinda stuff too and newer video drivers fixed the problem.

Sloppy programmers?

That is a very unfair thing to say. Could you create a program like Trainz? Could you create any program using a computer language?
As has been said, this is most likely a driver problem. How old is your PC? What are it's specs?
I know Snowhill has just bought 2010 and installed it problem-free and is at this moment creating a route in it with no problems. He is delighted, over the moon, in other words very satisfied. I think this shows the program does work and work well, but it also needs a PC with the right drivers, memory etc.
Most problems with the Trainz series were home grown. Not all, that is true, but a great majority were and still are solved by doing pretty basic housekeeping on your own PC.

I am also certain that Auran do their level best to help folk and are not 'sharks' of any kind. I have found that in the past. While I can understand frustration, getting annoyed and saying so on the forum may not be the best way of going about it. Just a thought.

Yes, you have a problem. Put your PC's specs up, get the latest drivers, expand memory if needed, things that are positive.

The folk here will help all they can, it is a strange thing about this forum, it is the best there is around. So be a little patient and the folk here will get you up and running.

Methinks this lady talks a lot of sense!

Moin,

First you should check the options menu for surveyor and have a look whether the point "only display favorite ..." is ticked.
You must untick it to get all your content from your local folder.
Maybe this will display you all content of the route without errors.

Also make sure, that all content for your route is installed in your new local folder.

Hope that helps a little.

Its funny then that Aurans dodgy rip off software seems to run fine for the rest of us, maybe everyone else got different working versions to you. No I didn't think so :o
You need to look hard at your own system and software to try and track down the possible cause.
Lets have a full list of specs to start with and a description of your route in detail, when where and with what was it made, whats missing from where and what??????

Tz2010

:( I have a great deal of sympathy with the originator of this thread.

I started with 2004 and happily moved on through 2006 etc with a few problems (asmittedly largely of my own making). 2009 arrived, and it was not too good, although it did at least work properly with Vista! Having had considerable problems with 2009 I sent an email to the forum and the helpdesk detailing 42 different problems and suggestions associated with Surveyor. My message did not appear on the forum, and I received no acknowledgement from Auran, despite sending the message to every vaild Auran email address I could find. There have been two service packs since then and to the best of my knowledge, none of my problems/suggestions have been addressed.

I have now had 2010 for a few weeks, and frankly I see little difference in performance/apppearance, and still have at least one of the problems (importing assets from DS) still extant. For the record, I have imported approx 189mb of content from DS and virtually all of it has shown warnings of one sort or another (mostly illegal tags, missing textures - the usual). In 2009 thanks to Paul Hobbs I was able to fix most of these when they occasionally turned up in 2006 and 2009. Unfortunately they don't seem to work with 2010! When they do work the assets turn up with, to me, a new error - binary conversion failed.

Frankly I've got so pissed off trying to access the content I want to use, I haven't tried seriously to do anything. I have had a go with a couple of the built in routes and Scenarios and they were OK, but I abandoned those after
the Banks Heath one repeatedly threw me off for passing a red signal when the signal was acyually at amber!

Because of my earler 2009 experience I haven't bothered the support people, and frankly I've pretty much lost interest. I think I might try to get my money back, although I do find trees beving like drunken tryffids going home from a suburban key party soewhat entertaining!

And before someone teels me to update my drivers, please note that the checks on installation gave my machine a clean bill of health so I expect the package to work properly!

I've got a problem,2010 sp1 I can't get it installed!!!! THe patch can't find Trainz.
Its driving me crazy!

A previous thread....Check post 5

He already knew there were some installation problems.
Only installed today, Say's it's a rip off, did not ask for help first, but quick enough to slate Auran for a dodgy product. Is this guy ever gonna be happy.
It's less than three weeks since he received the game and he is not satisfied. Ask the forum members for help before ranting about the product.
