WC Shotz

On this beautiful spring like day....We catch a CP train rolling thru Duplainville with a lone SD60 in charge of train 185

TO12 comes to a creeping stop as the rested crew from Fond du Lac waits to get on board.....The crew of this train will head to the motel for the night and come back tomorrow and take it back up to Gladstone as TO11

With the new crew on board, TO12 gets on its way and heads south for Fond du Lac

CP #487 with three SD40-2s heads west to MN with a whole lot of cars for the DME here at Duplainville Wisconsin

CP 5590 and 5577 on a CP detour train 503 roll past the ex Soo station at Shawano. The Soo and later WC route from Sault Ste. Marie to Chicago was rather round about as it went all the way to central Wisconsin at Argonne before swinging south. After the WC purchased the ex CNW lines in Michigan and Wisconsin they rationalized the route, using the ex CNW from North Escanaba to Green Bay and Neenah and abandoned some of the old Soo route.

Real version of it back in the good ol days...These days are for surely missed :(

CN SD70M-2 8018, CN ES44DC 2302, CN C44-9CWL 2522 and CN C44-9CW 2642 lead M343 north through Duplainville, shortly after leaving Waukesha on the CN's Waukesha Sub

Here we catch a WC mixed freight struggling up Byron Hill, with a train length of 7130 feet totaling a 4586 tons in tow

Figure I would share some photos. I haven't messed with Trainz since last year, but I have had more free time lately. If time permits I would like to learn about route building somehow and someway and start working on the Bradley sub from Rhinelander on over to Bradley.

Here we have CN 5319 that is getting ready to do some switching on the north side of the Hawk Junction yard.

With the crew just finishing eating breakfast in the depot, they hop back into the cab to take this 32 car train south to Sault Ste. Marie. A wonderful woman named Marie (from Sault. Ste. Marie actually) made some excellent omlettes and pancakes for breakfast and even brought the boys over some frappaccino's from Starbucks! I think its safe to say these guys will be well and ready for their trip south!

A shot taken in the weeds south of Montreal Falls by the local pulp mill. Those mosquitoes were terrible, but it wasn't going to stop the local rail fans from capturing a photo or two.

We will be continuing on to Trout Lake after a crew change. The 2 loco's on the siding to the left are assigned to yard duties and will then switch out various cars at the paper mill later on in the morning.

Nice job....At least someone else is finally posting WC/CN stuff.....Thanx for sharing :)
Sure thing. I love the route. You did a nice job on it. This is pretty much the only route I play with for right now. I need some help with the valley sub. I am missing a bunch of stuff I think including track. I think if I get the track for the route along with some bridges that I am missing I will be good to go.

Upon arriving in Trout Lake our consist is broken up on the sidings and our 2 loco's split up. One loco will tie up for the day in the yard while the other goes on assignment.

CN 5379 breaks away from the other SD40-2 that was used to bring the 32 car train into Trout Lake. This is a relatively short train that will be making a trip to Gould City to make a drop off.

The local passes through the small town of Caffey. Shortly hereafter the train had to make a stop due to the crew working on a section of track while another crew was working on a crossing signal. Indeed, there was a lot of action going on, but CN was determined to get these 3 empty log cars to the Gould City siding for loading. This can be seen as somewhat ironic since CN does not necessarily take the small pulpwood business as a priority when it comes to setting out/picking up pulpwood cars in the UP and Wisconsin.

The train has arrived at Gould City to make its drop off and will be headed back to Trout Lake running engine light. No pickups here in Gould City for the day. CN will come back to pick up the 3 pulpwood cars probably days after they are loaded.

I definitely need some better pulpwood cars. I am specifically looking for the pulpwood cars with the sides such as these...
