WC Shotz

This one says Wisconsin Central on the cab, altho it was retired long before Wisconsin Central existed. :hehe:

I think they just slapped that on there......Pretty cool to see a pic from Stevens Point....Far as I can tell thats where that was

It could be possible its from the original Wisconsin Central Railroad.
Wisconsin Central Railway (1897–1954)

The original Wisconsin Central Railroad Company was established by an act of the Wisconsin State Legislature and incorporated in February 1871. It built track throughout Wisconsin, connecting to neighboring states, before being leased to Northern Pacific Railway between 1889–1893. It became the Wisconsin Central Railway Company in 1897, and back to Wisconsin Central Railroad Company in 1954. The railroad was merged into the Soo Line Railroad in 1961.

And yeah, this proves it..

Soo Line 2713 is an H-21 class 4-6-2 steam locomotive that was built for the Wisconsin Central Railway in May 1911. The WC had fallen under the control of the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railway (“Soo Line”) in 1909, and the locomotive fleets of both railroads were operated in a single pool.
The 2713 was used to power the Soo Line and Wisconsin Central passenger trains in Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. It was retired in 1955, and since 1957 has been on display in Depot Park in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, United States.

Huh!

Learn something new every day, I thought the WC was incorporated to take over abandoned SOO Line and C&NW routes in the '70s or something. Anyway, yeah, that is the 2713 exhibit in Stevens Point ( I moved up here from Chicago about five years ago, my oldest son married a local girl and half of my grandkids are Cheeseheads - well, I guess I'M a Cheesehead now too! ). Dont you guys have some of the WC units still wondering around up there ??

Their still floating around up here, but fairly rare on the branch line jobs... Usually trailing units on the mainline...

Have you started any routes yet ?? Was wondering if ya did any of the WC ?? Also, you wouldnt happen to have a WC Timetable of the CN division for Wisconsin laying around, would ya ? :hehe:

The 0600 WC switch job goes on duty switching out the busy paper on this fine morning...The woodchip cars came in from Prentice from the Biewer Sawmill, which was unloaded here at the mill

On another day we catch the same job switching out the mill...But this time we were not so lucky to have it a nice morning....As soon as we stepped outside we felt the cold crisp air and we knew it was going to snow....Once we got to the paper mill the white stuff started to come down

Snow pictures this time of year?? Really WCL? It's going to be 95 today in Chicago area, but your snow pictures still gave me a shiver! Great shots, thanks for sharing.
