Some empty woodchip cars that will be taken from Bradley on over to Prentice by the local that sits in Bradley.

Looks like some freight is ready to be hauled out of Mosinee, but this will not be going north. The following day the freight in Mosinee will be hauled south.

Getting ready to pass by the Weston power plant. Looks like they are hard at work at emptying the coal train that came up around 12 hours ago. A few more to unload and then the 3 BNSF engines that are sitting on the siding will take the empties back south and then out west to the coal mines to get loaded again.

Its starting to get quite dark outside now as train L589 continues northward and passes by the power used for the coal train here at the Weston power plant.

An interesting shot looking at the paper mill in Rothschild. Were going to play the Where's Waldo version of trains. Can you spot the power used for the mill? Hint - its a WC SDL39!

Another shot from the west side of the tracks and a closer look at the yard by the paper mill.

Arriving at West Yard as we slow down to let the conductor off so he can uncouple the last 45 cars of the train. The first 55 cars are going on the first siding over from the main. As we look down from above there is a healthy assortment of cars already sitting in West Yard!

Backing into the siding to make our drop off here at West Yard.

The drop off has been made. We are pulling forward to clear the switch on the main. We will back up and couple up to the 45 cars remaining and haul them north.

But first, a crew change will be made before this train moves any further north. We have arrived in Wausau a little early today and the crew that takes L589 from Wausau to Bradley is not here yet. They will be here in about an hour or less. After they arrive, they will immediately hop on board and go to Bradley. Its 8:48 in the evening right now. My estimation is that this train will arrive in Bradley at around 11:20 PM or there about. For now, L589 will be tied down for a bit.

I just love reading about the activities goin' on in your route MDG84, your route is simply stunning!
Thanks, I appreciate that. This route was not built by me however. It was built by WCL. He is the one that got me into this. I was Googling some stuff one day and came across this thread and I was so excited that I sent him a message right away. With that being said, I hope to add to his route one of these days. I already edited Bradley a little bit. I plan on making this thing go east to Rhinelander. I just have not figured out how to begin and what needs to be done. I have watched a few tutorials, but I am definitely intimidated by route building. Other future projects beyond that would be putting in the short line owned by Tomahawk Railway that goes to the paper mill on the other side of town. Look out for more pics in the coming days ahead!

Nice to see my route getting used....There is a lot more that could be done and a lot of areas that need to be finished like the portions between Brokaw and Tomahawk itself.....Nothing is done between them.....But the rest is done :D

Keep them nice pix a`comin :Y:

The crew to take L589 to Bradley has arrived, are on board, and start heading north. The tankers seen here will be set out at Brokaw for the mill.

McDonald's anyone? About 10 seconds earlier some hot shot kid that just graduated high school blasted through the crossing as the signals were flashing. He was going quite fast and his tires squealed as he entered McDonald's for a late evening snack. Little did he know there would be a squad car in the McDonald's parking lot. The officer was just coming out of McDonald's with a Mocha Frappe as he saw the kid blast through the crossing and turned into McDonald's.

Entering the town of Brokaw as we slow down so we can cut in the 4 tankers on the siding for the mill. The engineer and conductor were holding their breath as the guy in the car here at the crossing was really thinking of crossing the tracks, but he was smart enough not to. If the crew had a nickel for every time they seen such an act they would be retired!

Setting out 4 tankers on the siding for the mill here in Brokaw. The next drop off will be 1 covered hopper at Merrill.

The 1 single car drop off has been made in Merrill and we will continue north with no more stops until L589 arrives in Bradley.

Meanwhile, Bradley sits silent, but only for now. The train seen here is the power that is used for the Rhinelander, Prentice and Park Falls jobs. The following cars proceeding the loco is the freight that will be heading south and that train will become L588, hence the name the Bradley Turn. The next set of photos to come will be of the Bradley Turn. Some maneuvering and switching will have to be made here at Bradley once L589 arrives with help from the local seen below. There will be some interesting shuffling going on so stay tuned for more photos to come!

At least the more important areas are finished. The areas between Brokaw and Tomahawk are probably the least important on this route. The Tomahawk yard could probably have some work done to it as well, but I am having a blast with the route as is right now. We will definitely need Rhinelander and then possibly the Ashland Sub. We would then be able to do everything with the route.
