WC Shotz

I may have missed his answer in another thread, or perhaps he chose not to answer, but I am curious about WCL's Rochelle screens. My question; should he deign to answer a flat lander, is that part of a route, or a diorama?

Sorry...I was typing that from my phone and did not see your question.....

It will be a route from Global III to Proviso Yard on the UP and for the BNSF side it will go from Rochelle to Aurora...Thats what the plan is as of now...Subject to change maybe???

You should make the BNSF track go to Cicero. You will have to make the big yard in Aurora which I can take pictures for you if you want since I live less than 5 minutes away. This yard also connects with the ex EJ&E which is now of course owned by CN. Once you get to Aurora starts the triple track as you go east into the city. Also, the CN tracks also cross over the UP tracks in West Chicago. There is a big diamond there where they cross. I have seen BNSF take intermodal trains from the Eola yard in Aurora onto the CN. They used to interchange the coal train, but I don't see that happen anymore. I think UP uses the CN too. I have seen UP intermodal trains on that line.

After lunch and sitting around for an hour at Bradley eating leftover Ravioli's, we are about to make the turn south off the Bradley Sub and onto the Valley Sub to Wausau. It was a beautiful day up until now as the weather is taking a turn for the worst. Rain starts falling just as we leave Bradley.

The train crosses Highway 8 here in Bradley as he skies start to get really dark.

Our train is approaching the Tomahawk yard as it crosses Lake Mohawksin. Meanwhile, the weather here is more clear than what it was in Bradley. What a difference 5 miles makes, but it is the Northwoods afterall!

Entering the Tomahawk yard with some box cars sitting on the siding that will probably be moved to the Tomahawk mill by the Tomahawk switcher.

Picking up some cars that the Tomahawk switcher brought into the yard just about an hour ago. Our second pickup in Tomahawk will be some box cars sitting in the old Milwaukee Road yard. To the left is where the Tomahawk switcher engine is usually kept.

Once again the weather puts a damper on things. This time its more dangerous than it was in Bradley as scattered strong t-storms makes some noise here in northern Wisconsin. The tornado sirens start to sound off in Tomahawk and to be safe our crew will start bolting for shelter. The 2 conductors said the hell with it! Once the weather clears up some we will hop back on our train and get the set of box cars to the right and continue south to Wausau.

A shot taken looking south from the propane spur track. This track once connected to the north end of the Milwaukee Road yard in Tomahawk. Things have cleared up for us again! A crazy day for weather in the Northwoods!

Guess ya caught the same train twice I see :hehe:
Its the same train as I am continuing the story. I just haven't had much time to post the screenshots I made since I have been working a lot. I worked a 17 hour day yesterday. Taking a break today and going to watch a movie and mess with Trainz.

No I mean ya posted twice with the same pix is what I mean....lol

The train slows down a big as it comes into the town of Merrill. Looks like the cold front pushed through and skies are starting to clear out here in the Northwoods.

Pulling up to Merrill now, but no cars are being picked up here so there will not be a stop in Merrill today.

Passing through Brokaw. The spur tracks are the tracks for the Brokaw paper mill. A few tankers sit on the siding. Looks like the switcher and Brokaw has yet to take these back to the mill.

Another shot in Brokaw. If you look closely you can see the tankers in the previous shot along with a couple of box cars.

Passing over a bridge between Brokaw and Wausau's West Yard.

A shot taken from the pitchers mound at a baseball park alongside the tracks. A few neighborhood kids were playing ball, but the pitcher could not resist taking out is phone and capturing this shot.

Passing by the Wausau Depot.

This is where the old West Yard was located. All tore up now and just some ties and rails left over.

Finally we arrive at West Yard where we are slowing down to about 10mph. We will pull into the siding and break our train apart from here and call it a day.

Those damn taxi drivers can never seem to be good drivers. Go figure, this guy was talking on his cell phone and plowed right into the car that was in front of him. If it was not for the car in front of him this guy might have plowed right into the train. When are people going to learn that talking and driving at the same time is not the best idea!

Wow....You finally got to finish this run......Pretty nice....Now ya need a story on taking this train back up to Prentice.....lol

Nice job :Y:

On the way back towards Green Bay, I swung thru Shawano to see what RR action was going on....When I got to the depot I seen train L3233 getting ready to leave the depot to head over to the Little Rapids Paper Mill on the other side of town

After he left the depot, I then raced him over to the Wolf River bridge

After that I said eh, he is just heading over to the mill, no need to chase him over there as there was nothing really special on that side of town with the amount of time I had.....If I was not in a hurry, I would of chased him over there and watched him switch out the mill before heading back towards Neenah

WC Train T007 (Fond du Lac to Stevens Point) is seen here at Neenah splitting the signals at Winchester Rd...The track that veers off to the right leads up to northeast Wisconsin points such as Appleton, and the Jct with the Shawano Sub at Appleton heads north to Shawano and the Fox River Sub that goes northeast heads towards Green Bay
