Today we catch a WC local, heading out of town, to take some empty gonds, to a local scrap yard, just a few miles down the tracks

bulkhead flatcar

Tonight on the way home from work we were stopped by this WC train that was coming into town

The WC and UP on a flyover

Thanx

Here is one for the day......A lone, beat up WC SW1500, brings its train back to the yard, after a days worth of switching a bad part of town

Few more to add before I leave out of town for the week and wont have TRS access :(

Today we caught a WC local, making its way thru town on this dark stormy like day...Some of the tracks in this area are pretty bad as you can see

WCL,

I had to run through two feet of snow in this field to catch this, it seems to be a southbound CN Intermodal train, thankfully I had my scanner with me and according to it, the train is headed to Milwaukee.
I thought you might be over that way soon, so perhaps you can catch her sometime tonight.
According to schedule, it should arrive in Milwaukee at about 8:15 tonight.
Good lash-up too, IC 6105 and WC 588 there, however I think they might be taking 588 for repairs, the train was only 13 cars long, I can't see the need for both an SD40-2 and SDL39, however if my sources are correct, 588 broke a cylinder head and they sent 6105 to take the train to Milwaukee.

December 24th 2009.

Well, A few hours later we headed over to Uncle Billy's to pick him up, seeing as we were holding our Christmas dinner at Grandma Kennedy's house about thirteen miles down the CN/IC tracks from his scrapyard.
When we got there, Uncle B said he just had to take of one more matter of business before we headed down to Granny's place, I knew it must be important because he wouldn't miss Granny's Christmas Ham for anything.
And lo and behold that matter of business came roaring in just five minutes later.
It was a train, dropping off two gondola's to be filled on the 26th (Uncle Billy closes the junk yard in observance of Christmas) with scrap metal bound for the steel mills in Chicago where it will be recycled.
On the point was another SDL39, #586 and an Illinois Central GP40.
Here are the picture I managed to snap.

Thanks 5521,

Though I signed it 'Woody" the story is actually supposed to be fictional, from somebody else's viewpoint.
It is coming from a fictional family, the Kennedy family, in which the character I am portraying is, "Luke Kennedy".
The story really came to life when I downloaded the Conrail Lincoln Secondary route after I created the said family in The Sims 2.
From there a story blossomed, and I love writing stories as it is, I was much inspired by the way WCL writes his stories on this thread, so I decided to post mine.
Maybe someday I'll get some pics of the actual family up, but I don't know that anyone would find it relevant.

I'll have more up soon!

More Shots!

Well, Christmas Eve went very well for the Kennedy family, at least no police calls if you know what I mean, and Uncle Billy didn't get gas from the ham!
So we headed up to church for the Christmas morning service, I was able to get the following shots right before church started:

That's right, those are the same two engines that were servicing Uncle Billy's scrapyard last night!
They are bringing back a train of Corn Syrup from Chicago.
