Thank you for the comment.....Yeah I am from the NE side of Wisconsin and the flurries are just flurries and nothing to accumulating yet...Which is really odd for this time of the month......

Thanx you 2.....I try to make them as real as I can...Ya know..Why just post pix??? Ya have to have a nice story to go with them to make them feel real as though as if you were actually right there taking them....That's the FUN and JOY of taking and sharing these pix with you all.....

Thanx again for the comments

Awsome shots WCL. That snow is fast approaching. Got a foot here already. They look wonderfull. Any chance us mortals could get in on this route?

Take care,

Ryan:wave:

Hey thanks Ryan......You guys are so LUCKY to have that much snow over there....We got nuttin here YET...The so called "FLURRIES" that we had yesterday, well, that didn't do squat to the ground...I don't think the ground here is cold enough to make it stick or make it stay around....Our lake out in front here as like 27 feet of ice across it, but its still all open towards the middle...All the Canadian Geese are finally gone for the season and they were still around here last week.....:hehe:

For the route...Well its still a work in progress and has a lot of areas that needs to be done....Between Brokaw and Tomahawk is the area that still needs to be done, and around the Stevens Point area that needs to also be finished up.......

So keep on checking back here to see more pix and updates of this route...Seeing that its snow season time, you will prolly see a lot of snow falling pix now....:hehe:

O yea, 25 degree temps, it's just lovely:hehe: Being right on Lake Erie is wonderfull. Supposed to hit hard where I am, but it got the northtowns, so I should re-phrase my above post but nevertheless, hoping it'll be white for my B-day soon =-) Having off School Thursday wouldn't be to bad ethier :p

Sounds good, defineitly will check in,

Have a good day,

Ryan:wave:

Well looks like the snow is finally starting to come on a weeks basis....This week for Wisconsin, looks as though we are going to get a good snow storm....(So the weather men say :o)

Anyways, the snow is still flying here in Central Wisconsin though, as we catch LO12 (Prentice to Wausau) here at Prentice

First shot of the day we catch him pulling his train out of the small yard up here at Prentice...The WC sign Welcomes Home WC crews, as the other side tells them to "have a safe trip"

We then raced him over to Bradley where he hops off the Bradley Sub and onto the Valley Sub where it will take him south to Wausau

At Tomahawk, we step inside to talk with a few friends in the yard office, once we got inside...No time was wasted and train 12 was rolling on past the office

We then left Tomahawk and headed south some more to the small town of Brokaw MP97 on the timetable, this lil town has one nice sized customer for the WC, a huge paper mill facility located on the south side of town

At Wausau now, the train is slowing down to yard limit rules where he slows on past Gilbert Park

Coming into downtown Wausau, passing a TV station

Passing the famous Wausau Historic train depot, now the housing for the boy scouts

And our last shot of the day, we catch him coming into the Wausau yard where it will cut off some cars, and also tack some on and pull its train to the south end of the yard, where a new crew will come on board and take it to Stevens Point as train LO18

All for now.....Time to go home and warm up to a nice hot cup of hot chocolate

Nice shots J. I'm not looking forward to going to work in the crap tomorrow... :n:

Thanx chief :Y:

And glad to see ya back with the CP...Hope it works out for ya and hope they keep ya for a while this time......Stay warm

2 Shots of a UP Coal train headed up to Weston, with a WC SD35Q in the consist :Y:

1 here at Junction City aka JO

and the other here at Knowlton

Today we ride along with the MT&W (Marinette Tomahawk and Western) crew up in Tomahawk

Our switcher today is MTW #62

We then head over to the small yard, where the WC trains set out cars for the MTW

Our first pick up for the day will be 3 loaded propane tank cars that will be delivered to a near by industry near the MTW shops

Here is the online customer that will be getting the 3 loaded tank cars of propane

Our train pulls up and wastes no time on delivering the goods

With the loads left at the industry

Our train then heads to a warehouse that's on the other side of town

Slowing for the RR crossing and the switch that will take them to the industry

Pulling 2 WC boxcar loads from the warehouse

We then head back to the mainline and head for the WC yard to give them back the 2 loads

Pulling into the WC yard, we slow as we cut away from the 2 loads and then head back to the engine house for lunch

Inside the engine house, the 2 MTW units wait for their next assignment, which will be later today as train LO11 will set out some more cars for the MTW and later LO12 will pick up some cars that will be left here for the WC to pick up to take back towards Wausau

All for now

This might not be a WC train....BUT, its a WPSX train that will be coming to the WC sometime this week

A friend of mine was in the area and seen this WPSX train getting loaded up at the Black Thunder Mine and asked me if the WPSX cars come here to Weston on my line....I told him "yup" I take them trains up to Weston when they sometimes hit JO (Junction City) and I take them from there all the way up to Weston and then spot the power and then head up to the Wausau yard or back to Point for another train

Here are the 2 pix that he took:

So sometime this week, I will be taking this loaded train from JO up to Weston....When it will get here??? I have no idea.....

Till next time

Well today I was called for a local to run down to Home Depot and Merrill Iron and Steel, I really didn't want to have to venture out into this crap....But oh well....So I grabbed my gear and headed out the door to the Wausau yard office......On the way down there, I was thinking what kind of power I will have to use today, I remember we had the SOO GP30 sitting around down there and I was so hoping NOT to have that one, the heater in that thing sucks and ya have to kick it here and there just to keep it going.....When we got down there we seen a WC GP40 and that was tacked onto some cars that looked as though it will be going to Home Depot, right then and there I felt the comfort of a nice days of work.....We went into the office to grab our switch list and then headed for our already running, heated up, nice ride today....

We got on our way and headed to Rothschild and ducked under HWY 29 and kept on going to head to Weston

Slowing up to make a stop at the Home Depot, we pass Weston 3 power plant

With our cut of cars left on the mainline, we then run light down the siding to grab the empties

With the empties in tow, we pull back to the mainline to grab our loads

We grab our loads and the conductor hops on the back and rides back to the spot where we will spot these loads, we slow for the RR crossing so he can hop off and flag the crossing

With the loads spotted, we then head back to the main to grab our empties to head up to Merrill Iron and Steel

With our train back together, we then head up to the next customer

Ducking back under HWY 29

At the Schofield we cut away from the cars we pulled from Home Depot, and pull 2 empty gondolas into the steel plant

Shoving the cars into the plant

With the switching complete, we then head back to the main for one last time to grab our cars, and head back to the yard

When we pulled back into the yard, we then see the SOO GP30, he must have been out switching 3M judging by the cars he had behind him

We then park our train next to the GP30 and head inside to turn in our paper work for the day and head er on home to beat the next snow storm
