WC Shotz

I don't want to go all the way to LaCrosse because I'd be copying what you've done...and I don't want to show how bad my work really is :o .

Steve

Na man....You can go all the way to La Crosse...I wouldn't care....Mine is CP and yours is CN/WC/GBW so its all good....Plus its YOUR layout....I can or can not tell ya how far to go and what to and what not to model....Feel free to go as far as ya want......

Plus your work looks good....Keep up the good work :Y:

Well...I'm at East Winona now. I pretty much have all of the texturing complete, and 92% of the tracklay complete. I know it's my layout, I was joking around. I just don't want to spend all of that time going down south at this time. I most likely will later, but for now, I just want to focus on this being as good as I can get it.

Wow, Cozmo, the next big one for RRmods? Or is it going to be another SD45 release. Either or, you guys never disappoint. I love the weathering and the fading of the herald. I find it very detailed, though you still have a bit still to be done.

I always found the 39's to be goofy because of their small fuel tanks.
That is a great model though, will it replace the existing 586 on RRMods?

Yeah the good ol SDL39's were a pretty unique lil unit

EMD custom built 10 of these little units for the Milwaukee Road to replace Alco and Baldwin roadswitchers assigned to light rail prairie lines. The units feature a very short frame (shorter than a GP7), special flexi-coil trucks and a small fuel tank. Eventually the grain lines they were built for were either abandoned or upgraded and successor SOO sold the remaining 9 to the WC.
Unfortunately after the CN's brutal committal of a homicide on the WC, all of them were sold.....

Ha! If you think that tank is small, have a quick look at Southern's GP38-2s!

You can see more than half of the front tank from this angle, and straight side shot makes them look awkward, and abnormal. I have a few pictures of them in an old Model Railroading magazine about modeling these current day monsters that are now Norfolked (Definition pending) by Norfolk Southern.

At least the SD-style trucks make up for the lost space, the Bloomberg Geep trucks don't.

Yeah this mesh is completely different from the last. This one makes my first look cartoonish. :hehe: Some more shots of it in game.... only a few more mesh details left to go...

Thanx

Very nice indeed......You should just do the whole SDL39 Series 582-590.....But the 584, 587 and 589 and the V stripes on the nose...So ya might not be able to make them ones......Hopefully ya do make the 583 :Y:
