Few pix that I caught today on the trains on the WC's Valley Sub

WC Train LO11 is seen here working the Brokaw Paper Mill here in Brokaw

WC Train LO12 the return trip of the LO11 (Wausau to Prentice) is seen here pulling past the Prentice Depot as it starts its trip back to Wausau

LO12 passing Gilbert Park on the North end of Wausau

LO12 passing the Wausau depot

LO12's power and the WC 2500 (the Wausau switcher) is seen here, sitting in the Wausau yard with cars for Wausau and points south of here....The crew will come on duty at 1600 and the 2500 will be fired up, where it will head downtown, to the 3M plant, as train YO913, to do the switching for the night

All for now

WCL and Cozmo,
I would be interested in having the 586 and that WC SW1, if you can spare the time.
Just PM me.
And, I'll get some WC/CN/IC shots up here soon!

We pick up on a CN intermodal lead by IC 1029.
We are rather low on fuel...the crew plans to stop at Bucketsville where a fuel truck is waiting.
trainz2009-08-1117-17-28-20.jpg

Traffic is pretty heavy today in the small town of Bucketsville.
That is James Meekway's truck right there.
trainz2009-08-1117-18-26-05.jpg

Engineer Filson Williams hits the Emergency Brake as the gates go down on Meekway's truck, traffic is still not moving!
trainz2009-08-1117-19-07-51.jpg

With brakes squealing and horn blasting 1029 nears the truck at 45mph.
trainz2009-08-1117-19-57-51.jpg

Meekway runs from the truck as 1029 slams into it.

Oh well, seems we don't see to many crash shots here!:hehe:

Cheers,
Woody:cool:

Too bad the sw1 was never on any road trains. :p I dont think it ever left shops yard until it was moved to Laona. Maybe I'll release it..maybe not.. I still havent decided yet.

Too bad the sw1 was never on any road trains. :p

That's why in TRS you can do these kinds of things ;) lol

I dont think it ever left shops yard until it was moved to Laona.

Yeah...That was the sad thing eh Adam??? That it never left shops yard till it got moved to Laona......Speaking of Laona...I was just up there on my ATV.....But didn't get to go over to the museum to scope out that SW....I wanted to but the ATV trail does not go behind the tracks.....Plus its like 20 bucks per person to get in the Camp 5 and stuff.......Ya should come down here and do a road trip to Laona....Come see er :Y:

Here are some quick shots I tool from Junction City....The 2 units of this train are the same ones a friend of mine had in real life as he brought his train into Stevens Point

My train was the Q118 Vancouver, BC to Harvey, IL, and mine was seen here at Junction City

All for now

I hear CN Intermodals all the time near my cottage...since my cottage is right next to the Bala Sub.

Oh ya...nice pictures!

"Dearly Beloved"

We are gathered here today in accordance with the FRA, AAR, TC and other regulatory bodies to unite these two units in M.U. service. If anyone takes exception, file your grievance or get in the clear.

(Insert groom's name here)
Do you take this woman to be your trailing unit, tying down your pin lifter forever, and permanently restricting yourself from interchange service, even with newer, freshly painted units, remaining coupled despite flat wheels, sticking brakes, even unto bad orders and major derailments, until you are both rendered unto scrap? If so, signify by sounding your whistle as prescribed by CROR Rule 14(b).

And, (groom's first name), do you promise to pull this unit up ruling grade, using throttle and brake wisely to prevent rough train handling, broken knuckles, and pulled drawbars, applying sand as necessary to prevent wheel slip, so that you both crest the hill together, regardless of the trailing tonnage? If so, signify by sounding your whistle as prescribed by CROR Rule 14(b). And do you also promise not to cut away from your trailing unit, even when her side sheets have rusted through, and her paint job has faded? If so, signify by sounding your whistle as prescribed by CROR Rule 14(b).

Now, (insert bride's name here), do you take this man to be your lead unit, tying down your pin-lifter forever, and permanently removing yourself from interchange service, even with newer series, high adhesion, high horsepower units, remaining coupled despite flat wheels, sticking brakes, even unto bad orders and major derailments, until you are both rendered unto scrap?

If so, signify by sounding your whistle as prescribed by CROR Rule 14(b). And do you promise to respond promptly to throttle and brake commands from your lead unit, handling your share of the tonnage, and helping your lead unit up ruling grade when necessary, being ever cautious to avoid unnecessary drawbar buffer forces? If so, signify by sounding your whistle as prescribed by CROR Rule 14(b).

Do you also promise to remain coupled to your lead unit, even when he has traction motors cut out, and can no longer develop full horse- power? If so, signify by sounding your whistle as prescribed by CROR Rule 14(b).

Now, (insert bride and groom's name), as a token of your intent to M.U., make the joint and stretch the slack. By the power invested in me by the General Manager, Superintendent of Operations, and the Road Foreman of Engines, I now pronounce you permanently coupled. You may cut in the air.
