As I was riding my ATV in the woods this early morning. I caught the WC local with two WC GP35s headed for the Neehah Paper Mill.

Yes, I agree WCL, very nice shot of some WC power. Definitely keep those screenshots coming ROCKHIT!

I don't have a Wisconsin route, otherwise I'd show off some as well. Anyone have a route link to share?

Thanks WCL! Is that the one you use for all your terrific screenshots? I'm downloading it as I type.

:)

Ok thanks Euphod for the info. Duh now that I think of it, you're right, as he's often posted pics of the WIP. It's early in the week.

:)

LOL....Yeah its all good :).....This route that I showed ya to get is not the one I run...The one we run is a WIP...The one I gave you is so you can post some WC shots as well :Y: So lets see em....

WC 2500 switching out the 3M mill

The train heads back light....As you can see the cop that sits behind a building...He always comes down when we switch out the mill and hides behind that building to catch people that do not come to a complete stop at this RR crossing

Coming back to the Wausau yard...The mainline that goes up to Prentice and point north is on the right

Pulling up to the yard office and the porta potty...Gots to love the new Johns the WC bought :hehe:

Thats all for now....Till next time

As I followed the WC local it was backing up the train in to the yard.
wc4o.jpg

As the uncoupled from the cars they started gathering the cars from the centerbeam unloading lot and the woodchip unloading lot.
wc5t.jpg

They then brought the cars into the yard to do further switching.
wc6k.jpg

Once they got the boxcars from the warehouse they then back the cars on to the main line siding tracks.
wc7r.jpg

Then they did a quick run around in the yard then coupled up to the remainder of the cars.
wc8.jpg

That it for today on the WC Local.
wc9e.jpg

Tonight we did a lil RR fanning around the Wausau area....Our first stop tonight was to check out the Wausau yard...When we got there we seen 2 WC trains getting ready to pull put....First out today was the local up to Prentice train 17

3 F45's stand tall at the north end of the Wausau yard to take train 17 north out of town also in the yard sits a WC GP40 to take a short train thru town to some near by industries

Train 17 gets on the way and passes thru the old west yard

Passing thru downtown Wausau with only the bell ringing...No horn can be sounded after 7pm

With the train clear of town...She starts to notch it up to lift its tonnage up out of the river valley...You can see Bridge St in the backround....Also the Wisconsin River parallel's the tracks all the way up to Brokaw

Passing thru the old Milwaukee Road yard...This used to be a 3 track yard back when the Milwaukee was in town...As you can tell by the big open space

Our last shot we caught him crossing over Jimma Creek and now picking up speed

We then went back into town to see if we could catch up to the local....We headed up town to wait for its arrival

I shot this pic cause it looked pretty cool to see the night life here in Wausau

And moments later the WC local zips on by with 2 loaded centerbeams and 2 boxcars

Thats all for now.....Till next time

Thanks.....U should post some

Heya,

I was trying to find out some more about Gordon Paper in Appleton, WI. There's nothing listed at Gordon's website about a paper mill there. And nothing in Google or Ask.com about a Gordon Paper plant in Appleton. Is this an older company? Or was it bought out by some other company?

The reason ask I wanted to have a story about some WC screenshots and a bit about the history etc. So if anyone has any helpful links about Gordon Paper Company in Appleton, WI, it'd be much appreciated!

Thanks!
