WC Shotz

Beautiful shots there WCL. I think that out of all of the fallen flags the WC gets the most attention, and with that beautiful paint scheme they do deserve it. I have to say that my favorite shot of yours is the one where the lead units already cleared the crossing. It looks photo realistic.

Yeah...The WC was a nice RR...Thats why I am trying to focus on some of it to capture all the great moments it once did have......That one pic with the coal cars you mean???? If so....Yeah I do like that one to....It sure makes it feel like fall with the dark skies and the corn just about ready to be picked and the no leaves on the trees.......

Thanks

Yup thats the pic that I was talking about. Your latest one is nice too.

I know what you mean about trying to capture the great moments of the railroad. I am going to be attempting to do the same for the Reading when I get started on my (hopefully) very prototypical Shamokin Division between Tamaqua and Shamokin.

Cool....I wish ya the best of luck on er......

Keep watching for more updates of this great route...Coming soon your way

Wow WCL these shots just get better and better. Oh, by the way I was wondering where I could find those wonderful gray grain hoppers that say Wisconsin Central on the side. They'd look awesome on some of my mixed freight runs!

Thanks

Davis

Thanks.....Them WC cars you will not find...They are not out....Nor I dont think they will be....Sorry....Keep watching for more pix coming soon your way

Back to the topic here

Today was nothing special....Just a WC freight from Fond du Lac was coming into Wausau

Here we caught them sitting at the end of town in Rothschild to wait for a clear in the yard...HWY 29 is just above the train

After they got the clear they took off for the Wausau yard...Upon arriving at the yard...The cars got spotted in the yard and the power came over to the yard office where it will sit for the night till the next day till it goes back to Fond du Lac or further up north...Or it will go out tonight up north...I got out to talk to one of the crew members from this train to see how this ride went....I was off today and usually run this train from Fond du Lac up to Wausau here

I then went inside to go and get some papers I needed before I went home...I also shot this shot quick for ya'll from the yard office :hehe:

All for now...Till next time

A unique operation happend today on the WC....Today for the coal train was 2 NS SD70M-2's

We didn't get to catch the coal tain pull into the Weston yard but we did catch him ducking under a side road...What was weird that they took the coal train power and ran it lite up to Wausau...We were wondering why they were doing this

We then raced it up to Rothschild where I quick ran inside to get something to drink but when I got back out...He was already zipping past the Lignotech Paper Mill here in town

At the end of the mill we catch him ducking under HWY 29

I then pull down a side road where he pulls in at the south end of the Wausau yard...Now we know what he was doing....Here he was waiting for the SB to come in from Prentice

With the SB's train on the main...The NS power creeps back out of the yard and comes back onto the main and couples onto its train to take it south

With its train back together...He pulls hard to get its train moving again...Here we beat him to Schofield where he was at notch 8 already trying to lift its tonnage up out of the river valley

Our last shot we catch him ducking under HWY 29 again but this time in the other direction heading towards Jct City

All for now...Till next time......

A WC waits in the siding for a loaded BNSF coal train to pass on by as it makes its way up to Weston....The WC train will soo be on its way as soon as the coal train clears to continue its way up to Wausau

Nice pics WCL. I like the NS story.

It's kind of cool to see your route evolve with these stories.

:)
