Water troughs

Hi all, just been having a look around at some of the contents in surveyor and came across the water trough & I was wondering does it work for the steam loco's and if so, which one's?

Thanks for any replies.

Craig.

Hi Craig

The Settle & Carlisle add on has some steam locos that have water scoops in their tenders. When they go over the water troughs spray appears under the tender. I've never noticed if they fill the tenders up though.

Hi BD1

The one that I know works is by Mike10 but is contained in the S&C add on. It is called "S&C Garsdale water trough", kuid2:35412:38222:2 . There are 4 others listed in my CMP, all by Mike10 but I don't know if they work or not. The one that you mention is build 1.3 but the others are all build 2.4 and are showing as built in so they may also be part of the S&C add on.

I've never made any but I'd think if one was setup as an industry and made interactive for water as its product it should fill a tender.

If a tender can be filled from a water tank why would that be any different then filling a tender from a trough if the trough is setup like a water tank? Not trying to start an argument here but I don't see the difference (which doesn't mean there might not be one, lol).

EDIT: Went and looked at one of my water tanks. Yes it needs a script file and possibly an event file but there is almost no difference in the script then one for allmost any industry. Different product is all. I used one I have for coal mines and just changed the product to water.

I understand it now so I'll butt out.

The tender needs to pick up a message from triggers in the trough asset which is why it needs the script. Actually the tender empties first and then is instantly refilled, it doesn't really pick up the water from the trough and the trough doesn't need a product queue. So it really creates water magically.

Hi everyone. Thanks to all of you for replying.

I can't find the water trough by Mike10, but I will be buying Settle & Carlisle when I upgrade my PC in the new year.

Craig.
