Hello Community --

I open an old route in TZ19, and then i tried to manipulate the water by changing its' color, and rising it up and down, and even adding more water to open sections, but nothing is working, and I'm not sure what to do! Any instructions please, will be helpful!

Thanks in advance
Ish

Hello !
In my memory, the water is bound to the main layer, not to the underlying layers. That is what forced me, to simulate a tide, to use plates having the appearance of water, appearing or disappearing according to events.
So it is not a problem of Layers, I think...

Check and see if you have more than one Layer in your Route. Lot of people separate items into different Route Layers........;)

Hello Guys --

Thanks for your posts, but it's not a layer issue, Guys! Like Jean said!

What it is N3V changing things again, and frustrating folks out here! I should not re-read the manual for a million times to find something that should be as simple as changing the color of the water, and/or raising the water's level like it was done in previous versions! I'm not one to complain about thigs, but I'm getting sweaty out here! In fact, a super scripter emailed me the other day that he left trainz 3 years ago, and has no intention of returning, because after he fixed his signal package for his an expansions of his route the latest TZ19 patch broke all of his script tags. He said never again. So, again, I can't figure out how to manipulate the water effect, because N3V keeps Changing things around I say again.

Yes, I'm aware, it's for the better of the development of the game, but do all things need to be change? Anyhow, I Degrass -- pictures of my route that I need the water changed, below, just click link

Ish,

Click on the Environment menu.

Click on the panel with the clock on it.

Click on a dot or click + and add one on the clock.

You can then edit the color of the water and sky, brightness, contrast, etc.

Hi John --

Thanks for the tip, sir -- that works just fine in any other layout except for the layout that I transfer from TR12 into TR19!

Ok guys, this is the problem, with screenshot -- See, the light greenish spaces, that's the water effect when adding water, that's what it looks like -- However, the water you see beneath is the water that refuses to be deleted, changed, or manipulated!

I guess what I might have to do is make a copy of this route, and then press all the config tags, etc etc .. until something works! Also, as far as I know it's not a layer issue -- I just transfer this route from TR12 into TR19, and then the water stopped working in being changed, deleted, and/ or raised!

Water is completely changed in the latest version of Trainz and is not very compatible with the old water. To edit the new water, treat it like topology and use the topology tools to lower it below the ground where you dont want it.
