Virginia & Truckee

Rick,

According to Whecsailor's description, those are Model A's, which weren't produced until 1926 or so. Though, looking at some photographs, they look pretty close to 'T's. I think they'll do nicely. Thanks for making me look at them again!

Railtrackdelay,
I'm targeting '06 because of the animated junctions. It will likely move to TC3 once that comes out, as it looks like there are going to be some nice features there I'd like to use. I'm not using any content built into '04, '06, or any of the TCs, so (knock on wood) it won't be too hard to port it to an earlier version.

Actually, the Model T was produced from 1909 to 1927, the Model A was produced from 1928 through 1931, from 1917 through 1925, the Model T was black, always black, no other color rolled off of Ford's assembly line during those years, from 1909 to 1917, that is the era of what is known as the brass T, those were the ones with the brass radiator, and in the earlier years leading up to 1917, the headlights were all brass parts as well...........:wave::wave:

Slowly working my way up the V&T passenger car roster, here are coach-caboose Nos 5 and 6 in two different paint schemes. The green might be appropriate for the early 1880's, and the yellow for mid 1880s- to the mid 1890s.
The cars are industry interactive with operating doors, and support both baggage and Elvenor's western passengers. They have been tested in TS2009 and are error-free.
Much of this car is conjecture, as there exists only a very few partial photographs of the car.
These two cars were built in 1871 by the V&T in the Virginia City car shops, and were originally numbered 3 and 4. When the new Kimball cars arrived from San Francisco in 1872, these were renumbered to 5 and 6. No 5 was out of service by June 1897. No 6 was converted to a carpenter sleeper by the turn of the century, and was scrapped by 1905.

These cars are now available on the DLS.

Locomotive No. 4, 'Virginia', fresh from Baldwin Locomotive Works, leads a string of ore cars through Vivian Cut on her way to the mills along the Carson River.

Great work as always Pencil! I love watching this project come together.

One thing though: Will the 2-6-0 that I at least have been waiting for for years be available for TRS '06, or is it really an '09 exclusive? Please for the love of Christ/Vishnu/Amaterasu let it be the former. . .

TS 2009 only. I'll make the source files available (thanks to bdaneal!), so you can attempt to convert it if you'd like. Be forwarned that it won't be a trivial operation, but should be possible (mostly - there is at least one problem I was never able to work around in earlier versions of Trainz.)
The ore cars have now been updated for '09 - the numbering has been fixed, bumpmaps have been added, and the bogeys have been made more efficient. They should be on the DLS the next time it gets updated.

Awsome Work Pencil. I love the V&T Railroad. The railroad always reminds me of the Old Western Days of Railroads in the USA. :) :D

I grew up in El Dorado County in California, and went to Reno, Virginia City, and Carson City a few times. So yah, looking forward to this route!

Keep up the great work!

:Y:

btw...they're renewing the V&T out of Virginia City southwards, I'm not sure how far they plan to re-lay track, but it goes as American Flat to-date with Phase II plans to take it to Carson City and beyond into Carson River Canyon. That's the plans at least from this YouTube video.

Here's a work-in-progress shot of yet another version of caboose 9 - after the 1913 addition of a cupola:

Those moguls look great Pencil! Looking forward to seeing more on this route. Do you have any route screenshots yet? If not that's ok.

:)

Thanks bryinmich!
No, no new screenshots of the route. I've been playing around in the Steamboat area (just finished up the main lods for the turntable there), but there's nothing worth showing off yet.
