Greetings,

Does anyone know if there is a utility in Trainz that will show the number of baseboards in a route?

The short answer is No. As far as I know there is no such utility but it would, occasionally, be useful but not vital.

The more realistic answer is Yes if you are prepared to zoom out far enough to see the baseboard boundary lines and manually count them yourself.

Thanks for the info. Yep, that's what I thought and have done before - zoom out and manually count the baseboards.

In the olden days, there was a utility that worked with TRS2006. This utility, the name escapes me, not only counted baseboards but it would also list total miles of a route when clicking on the line, and above all we could actually print the route out to paper. It had the ability to change out track splines as well, which was a big deal back then.

Sadly, after TS12 SP1 the file format changed and the program never worked again and the worst part is the author gave up on it.

@JCitron...Vistamere's Trainzmap. A utility far more worthy than some of the whoopla new stuff coming out now. Unfortunately the creator, an Italian programmer left for far greener pastures over ten years ago.

What is the question behind the question?
As in:
Why do you need that answer? What is the question you are trying to answer?

Thank you for the memory jog. I'm sorry to hear that. I thought he had just quit developing and not gone over the rainbow.

It was by Maurizio M. Gavioli at VistaMare Software. In the license agreement it states that it can be freely duplicated and distributed as long as no money is asked and the program is not changed. As of 2019 he was still active in MS Flight Sim.

Okay. Good for him!

For those that have Trainz+ with HD.
zoom all the way out and marquee select all baseboards, then find the antlike icon that has the option
convert baseboards to HD, let it run, this will show you how many baseboards were converted.
