Upgrading Trainz assets

I am upgrading assets to TS10 from the DLS.
Perusing my installed content, I find I now have several copies of the same asset in a diferent version number.
Can I just delete or diable the older versions?
Will the newer asset versions show up on the various default routes? Just how does that work?

I would not advise deleting the previous versions, as some assets will have the previous versions listed as dependencies.
Disabling has the same effect as deleting from that point of view.
The built-in routes will automatically use the newer versions through the obsoletion process.

Thanks Shane. I was primarily interested in how a route would handle upgraded assets. In the interest of overbloated asset folders, I think I will pare down the duplicated content, perhaps using the disable function and checking contet carefully for any missing assets prior to deletion.

It's OK - one thing to watch out for with the updated assets is that some are faulty (invisible or other issues).

I enjoy reading your technical insights and tutes. They are helpful to us 'grumpy old men' as we have so so much stuff filed away in our cabeza, we often forget which cabinet we stored it in.
