hi everyone. is there a way of to disable the :updating trainz asset database:.When click on start it updates .is there any way to stop this. thank you Rod i am running TS 12.

No - if you are getting this frequently you need to allow TADDaemon to close fully before closing down your system. There is an option though (Options > Developer > Show database process windows) that will help if ticked, as TADDaemon will appear as an icon in the taskbar then.

Ok, having seen that same suggestion in every thread on this topic, Ill just refute it to say it doesnt matter, it has no effect on getting it to stop, so disregard. I dont have an answer, Im here to try to find out why it wont stop updating. Im just seeing the same suggestion over and over again that makes no difference. I've done the wait for the daemon to end a couple times and the exact same series of update processes happen.

Don't you hate when you sucessfully backdate an asset to a lower trainzbuild ... and then someone updates the asset, and the trainzbuild goes back up, beyond your version, and errors creep into a previously working asset ... and you have to go about the backdating of the config file, all over again.

If you clone your favorite assets, and all of their hundreds of dependencies, and rename the username line in the config file ... or save then to a CDP ... when they go missing, you can simply go to your PC Downloads, find the Saved CDP, and re-install your favorite assets.

I had a saved consist of 25 EBT hopper cars backdated to trainzbuild 2.6 ... then someone updated the trainzbuild to 2.9 again ... when I clicked to place the saved consist (that was previously working) it made a Fatal Error-Terminate Trainz :(

If it's not due to shutting down the PC before TadDaemon has closed.
If Vista or higher and lower than a pro Windows version suggest perhaps you have Trainz installed in Program files and are not running Trainz specifically as administrator, so due to Microsoft write restrictions in Program Files, the database updates are not actually getting written to disk.
