Updating asset database

Try entering your login details into Trainz. When you launch Trainz, click on "Options", then on the "Planet Auran" tab. The next step should be obvious.
 
A note here Stimpy61 - just entering your details into Trainz is not sufficient to register the software. This has to be done separately via Planet Auran > Serial Number. As the others have said, if you've got two accounts, or it's saying it's already registered, you must contact Helpdesk.

Then why doesn't the icon appear here in the forums? Are you using two different login names? One for the forums and one for the game? That can make a difference. If this is so, still contact the helpdesk and have them merged as that will solve a lot of hassle in the end.

I'm beginning to wonder about this guy. Is it possible, John, that you could bring this to Zec's attention, and using you and he's resources (access to personal info) find out if there is any record of him making a purchase through SimCentral? It keeps looking more and more like "sharing" is going on.

Brand new purchase and install last weekend,9/8 then the forum got wiped/restarted, all my problems started there as a new user I was wiped from this forum because I joined and registered AFTER the site restored date.
SO, In my opinion, this site needs to pull my data from auran and fix itself.

Thank you for reporting this to us. I can confirm that your serial numbers are registered, and you will have full access to the online functions in Trainz, however it appears that the forum issues last week may have reset the 'timeline' next to your username on the forums. I have passed this on to our admin for him to look into.

But here is the part you just don't seem to get...The "Forums" have no affect what so ever on the "Game".

You keep posting about problems with the "Game", and were told numerous times how to go about correcting those issues. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that anyone in these Forums can do (besides give advice) that will correct an issue you are having with your "game", be it "Updating Database" issues, or DLS access issues, or anything else.
-Summary: nothing in these Forums will affect your Game...the Forum issues from a few days ago can not possibly have changed anything within your Trainz game to cause it to malfunction...the two are just simply NOT connected that way.

Likewise, the Game will not affect your Forum activity.

I NEVER stated or assumed there was any connection between game and forum. I brought it up because everyone stated " You must be registered for us to help you" My few other posts were wiped out with the forum Re-Load with all your Happy-Happy replies welcoming me as a new (registered) member.

With that said, I still have the same game issues and more, BUT have not posted them due to my belief You-All would hold back assistance until the registration issue was solved.

With that also said: I AM GLAD TO BE BACK.
do I really have to start posts with I'M ALREADY REGISTERED!
If its a joke, I will enjoy this forum, I like a good one.

To be honest with you Stimpy, as I've said to you before, registration is critical here (although it sounds like you've got a second account that you've previously registered your version on - if that's the case, it's best to either use that account or get Helpdesk to merge the two together). If you have attempted to register the account through Planet Auran > Serial Number and it says that it is already registered, check if it's actually appearing on that page. If it's not, only N3V can help you with this one.

This will allow you to (re-) gain access to the Download Station as well as the version-specific support forums, as well as the ability to patch your game.

I realise that it may appear as if I'm having a go at you, but there have been several cases lately of users using pirate versions of Trainz, which N3V and the community are trying to stamp out.

You may get limited help with certain problems, but most of the technical issues are normally solved by those who request that the user has registered serial numbers.

Now back to the original problem.

Updating the database is usually a sign that something happened that caused the database not to close down cleanly, and is more likely a sign that the program wasn't shutdown properly. This also occurs during updates and patches, and it is necessary to let this process complete. Without completing this step, you'll have missing content and broken dependencies.

I suggest going into the options tab on the Launcher screen and clicking Show database processes window in the developer tab. It's worded close to this, I can't remember as I am not at my Trainz computer at the moment.

There is no need to watch the action inside the windows, unless you're interested, but the main point is when these close completely, it is safe to shutdown your computer.

You may have to run a database repair which is found in Content Manager. Click on File and choose quick database repair. Warning: A QDR is not so quick, so plan on doing this at a time when you won't be using your PC. I usually do this kind of stuff when I'm sleeping.

I will check the database tab like you say and download the repair if needed (Yes Content Mgr is working fine, its just this forum who lost my reg.)
