I note that a couple of my recent posts have been deleted. I assume this indicates that Auran now feels more profitable and that it has the resources to guide newcomers etc. and thus I will be spending less time in the forum in future.

I don't think there need be any further discussion on the subject other than to say remember the new improved helpdesk is there to answer your questions, especially ones relating to Blender.

Bye

Cheerio John

John, it's gonna be a bit empty on this forum without ya, whatever you do, I wish you best of luck.

Really gone or just fell between the cracks? Back in the day, before the great crash, we sometimes had posts go missing from the bottom of one page to the top of the next page as new messages were added to a thread. I forget how that was solved but eventually they reappeared.

As someone who has been personally helped by John I would be very disappointed if this was anything more than a temporary break from the forum  . The 'community' would collapse without experienced members who are willing to show patience and help out new-comers..

Come on John......No'Dear John' letters please...(pun intended !!) your advise is always sound and your content is excellent....stick around

Most times when posts get deleted from a forum, it's because the poster or someone else in thread is in breach of the code of conduct. I don't see how you get from that to making broad statements about Auran.

kind regards,

chris

as I stated earlier in my post that vanished. I've heard a number of other former members mention that their informative posts were deleted as well.

As above, posts which violate the code of conduct, or which are in threads which contains violations of the code of conduct, are likely to be deleted.

As far as I can see from your post history, your deleted posts fall into this category. If you have a specific post date or topic in mind, and it's not something that you think is against the code of conduct, allude to it here and I will check into it for you.

kind regards,

chris

As per the COC, if you wish to 'contest' a moderation action (or simply ask why an action was taken), you can also contact us via the helpdesk. :)

We will look into any ticket regarding this, and will send a reply to you as soon as possible.

In some cases, a post may be removed if it is in reply to a post that is breaking the code of conduct (since it may not longer be relevant to the thread).

As above, I've heard others talk about their post vanishing. I am aware that some of my posts may have been considered a violation of the CoC. Since I am not them I really didn't want to make a formal complaint to the helpdesk (where I should mention in the past all I ever get back when sending messages about moderator decisions is a 'auto' reply saying you'll look into it, and NOTHING is ever heard of again, I haven't had the need to since Zec's take over I'll admit) as I really don't know the full story on their case; it is something I just noticed (I'm not even sure some of them can, as one was banned for their 'informative' posts)
