Undeletable Spline

I've created a neat fictional urban terminal that has been marred by a misplaced and undeletable, unmodifiable spline piece - AJS Glazed Station Roof. I'm not even sure how I created it...I apparently added a segment to the one I wanted to keep which has curved around and now just sits there, refusing to be deleted. None of the other spline modification tools work either - I just get that sickly buzzing sound when you click incorrectly on something. I had a similar situation a while back with a road, but closing and re-opening the file allowed me to delete it. But I tried that here with no luck.

Any suggestions how I can delete that one segment without losing everything I've worked on? Thanks!

Try deleting it in both the route layer and session layer, if that fails then try using the "Object" delete or track delete. Some splines tend to forget what category they are in.

I must be either a Building Spline, or a Track Spline ... looking directly down from overhead try to move it so that it is really short ... then from directly overhed looking straight down ... click all over creation on the asset, when zoomed in, and zoomed out.

Can you place a spline point circle in the middle of the spline ?

Make sure your surveyor spline selection says "ALL"

Possibly if you stretch it out to an unpopulated area ... maybe some other closeby asset is interfering with it's deletion ?

How long is the piece of roof that won't delete? If it is really short, say something like 5 meters or less, there is a possibility that it was attached to a platform template. If that is the case, you will have to delete the platform template to get rid of the unwanted roof.

The delete object worked. Somehow it became attached to a tram station, so it also deleted the station. Fortunately, it wasn't a big deal to replace. Thanks guys!

AJ's objects are meant to attach to the station platforms, so if you had somehow clicked on something by mistake, or something got weird and the spline somehow found its way to the tram station, this would have happened.

When my desktop computer was ready for an install, I had a sticky mouse issue that wouldn't always release a spline or other objects once I placed it. This was very frustrating, and I ended up connecting things together that I didn't want to all the time.

Well, that's the odd thing, John - the end of the roof spline wasn't attached to anything I could see. I couldn't click on it nor the other two points. It was as if the spline became an object that was "fused" with the tram station object. Strange!

Yep, very strange what goes on in the Trainz Brainz these days. Welcome to our other dimension.
Arthur C Clarke has nothing on this sim. :hehe:

Andi (AKA "Andi06" or "AJS ***") created a "Spline Eraser" asset which I believe is intended to deal with the problem, but most of the time it's easier to just delete the offending object as you have discovered !
