Unable to download. Couldn't obtain URL. Item cannot be found on the Download Station

{PROBLEM SOLVED}

I've got a problem using content manager v3.2 with ts2010. I've bought a first calss ticket and activated it. It also shows active in the settings tab. But when I try to download something from the Download Station, it says the item cannot be found...

Please help, because otherwise it's a waste of my first class ticket..

Update:
Got an answer from Auran and they fixed my account. For anyone that has problems try the following (from Auran):

If this happens again, please try going into your Planet Auran profile, then log out
of it, then log back in. This usually forces the DLS to update.

Please try forcing a refresh in Content Manager.

To do this, first remove all items from the downloads queue, then go into the
settings for Content Manager. Now remove your username and password, then click on
save. Once it has saved the settings, restart Content Manager (close it down then
re-open it) and then re-enter your username and password and click on save. Once it
has saved the settings again, try downloading.

You could try downloading something via the website to see if it works that way. (And I recall seeing that it may take a little time for an FCT to activate, so you could try again and see if it's working yet.) You can also check what it says on the Download Tickets section of the Planet Auran site. (Click Profile above and then click Download Tickets.) While I don't have an FCT, I have suddenly lost access to the DLS and have no clue why. I already created a ticket about it, but there hasn't been a response to it yet.

I am also using TS2010 and CMP 3.2, and I think I may have had the same problem as you since Friday.

When I use CMP the full message that I get is:
Unable to download ‘ATSF Sw1500’. Couldn’t obtain a download URL. Item Cannot be found on the Download Station.
For me it happens with any kuid on the Download Station.

When I access the Download Station in an Internet Browser I can search for files. But when I go to view more details by clicking on "Download Page",
It says:
Please Note:
1. You do not have access to download this file.

Help
If you have just registered your Planet Auran profile or registered a serial number please allow for 10 minutes for your FTP permissions to be updated.
Download Station: you need to have registered your Trainz proir to being able to download from the Trainz Download Station.


Please contact Help Desk for further assistance.
And when I look at my Planet Auran Account in "Download Tickets" it says:
No Access
You do not have access to any content on the Download Station.
Please register your Trainz Serial to gain access.

If you do not have a serial number, you can order Trainz Simulator 2009: World Builder Edition via the Auran Shop.

Yet if I look in "Serial Number", it already shows as registered.
I've submitted a Support Ticket and I am currently awaiting a response.

Same over here

I EXACTLY the same issue here.

FCT and registred serial number and same screens.

I also filed a ticket at the helpdesk so if they fix YOUR problem, they can copy/paste it to my situation :)

Yes I've got the same issues with the serialnr not registered etc.. Also submitted a support ticket. Hopefully this will be fixed soon..

Did any of you get this solved? Its a pain.
My only advice would be to try submitting a Support Ticket at the Helpdesk if you have not yet, although so far I have not received a response.

No one's had it solved yet that I'm aware of, it has not been solved for me so far.

Hopefully someone will have something more to say soon.

(All dates are US dates.) Don't know how many tickets Zec's got left, but he seems to have been working on tickets from 01/07-01/11 (and possibly more) yesterday so depending on how long it takes him, it might take a little time yet. My ticket about this was submitted really early morning on the 16th. (It would have been submitted several hours before this thread started.)
 
At least reading this thread it's settled my mind from wondering if things have changed and you now need a 1st class ticket to download any TS2009 - 2010
assets. I've been having this same problem since the 16th too although I havn't borght a 1st class ticket yet (and wont till this gets sorted out). I submitted a helpdesk ticket on the 17th and will see with baited breath if your problem gets sorted out.

Is it only happening with TS2009 or TS2010 assets because I can download everything up to TS2009. I've just tried to sort it with a full reinstall and it hasn't solved it and have waisted a few days route building time :'(
I have TRS2004 and my half finished routes were all transfered over along and the local folder of 2010 was several gigs so resist the earge to reinstall it wont solve a thing.

Could you keep us posted if anything gets sorted?

I don't think it's related to the FCT, but more to a busy DLS, or perhaps the database up there is not quite up-to-date with what's displayed.

The other thing too that I noticed a couple of times now is new assets don't always update their status in the download queue within CM3.2. When this happens there is only the ? instead of the red/black DLS icon, and the items won't download.

Last night I went DLS searching for some particular buildings for my route. In the process I came across some new items that I found interesting. I clicked on them on the website download link, and they showed up in the queue, but without the red/black DLS icon. Clicking on Start did not download them.

I then checked the Downloads tab within CM. The items that I couldn't download by clicking on the Start button were listed there with the red/black DLS icon on them. I simply right mouse-button clicked on them and chose download. The items installed fine.

What's interesting about this is older items showed up properly in the queue and downloaded quickly without a hitch. It's as though the database wasn't quite updated all the way yet. By older items, I mean those that were up there on the 12th instead of the 19th or later.

Regarding the items with the bad URL link. This maybe due to a bad upload. I've seen this in the past, and the original creator has to reupload the items. I believe they will have to use a new version number to accomplish this, but I'm not sure.

And thats for the QR KKB Cattle Van the very first peice of rollingstock posted to the DLS and the very latest assets including those uploaded to the DLS pre TS2009 on the 20th of Jan download fine. I don't think its an SP1 prob either because I was downloading TS2009 assets on the 10th Jan fine this problem only started on the 16th I installed sp1 when I got my copy just before Christmas and I quickly tried between reinstalling TS2010 and patching to sp1. It seems like there is something wrong with the code you enter when installing trainz and the same one you enter when registering with the Auran site. Which in my situation show in both trainz and auran without any problems everything seems OK apart from when I try to download TS2009 or TS2010 stuff.

I hope this gets sorted soon coz I'm finding all these gorgeous 2009 buildings that I can't download. :'(

This sounds like your problem is bigger than I thought. I am able to download this item fine. :confused:

I have a feeling that the problem lies at the feet of the DLS server(s). If they would take it off their Commodore64's and put it on a real computer (like, maybe Mattel) then maybe more than one person at a time could access it.

I am joking above, but every time I try to access the DLS using either a browser OR my various CM/CMP/CM2 combinations I get any one (or more) of these:

1) Checking to see if your username and password are valid. This usually takes anywhere from an hour to never; at which time I am told "We never heard of you" despite me having FIVE serial numbers registered.

2) I see an item or items I'd like to have that are indicating they are on the DLS. (presuming item #1 finally kicks in). I drag/drop them into the download area and I get - - - - "Idle". Sometimes for as long as I'm willing to wait. Then, if it multiple items maybe a third of them will finally begin to show up with a size (indicating that they were found) and I can then start a download.

3) Items will be stalled (forever?) while "Searching" appears (forever?). Then, depending on whether or not it is found, I can either download it, or watch the status bar turn RED and tell me "I can't find this item on the download station". Huh? You are indicating that the item is ON the DLS, yet you can't FIND it? What planet is your server on anyway?

I have the requisite FCT's, Access, and other items needed to download, yet I cannot. I'm burning FCT days but not being able to use it. I know that I am not alone in this. ALl I can say is: when is this going to start working?

Agree. It may be a bigger issues. I have had a ticket since the 18th and based on email regarding this issue it may take a while. Strange that you can't download from the Auran site, within the Trainz program through Content Manager and nor from Content updates.

Looks like only time will tell.
 
Try checking what it says on first part of the the Download Tickets page ont the Planet Auran site. (Click Profile above then click Download Tickets and see what it says about you having any DLS access.)

My access to the DLS suddenly vanished around the 16th (US date) and previously posted methods to try and fix this (changing my password, clearing the username/password info from CMP, even trying to re-register my copy of TS2010) did not work so I've got a ticket up about it. Around the same time at least one other person lost DLS access, so this might be something that got messed up on their end. I think Zec may be making some progress in catching up on support tickets, but I don't know for sure and don't know exactly how caught up he is.

Can once again add new shiny stuff to my layouts. I changed my password earlier on today but nothing happend well at least streight away been away for a few hours came hope loaded it up on the off chance and walah its working if anyone else is having these issues then try it it can't do any halm.
