UMR2022

The Driver Rules, 'ReverseTram' and 'Instant Load Loco' are helpful when running steam on modern routes. Reverse Tram will spin an engine and tender after uncoupling from the consist, requires a little room on either side.

Digging this one up I know, sorry, but wanted to add that the UMR series has always been my favorite going back to 2010. The new S2.0 in Plus has really made mass editing of this route a ton easier. I have been doing a significant update of the base UMR 2022 version replacing all textures that I can find with PBR equivalents as well as doing some general route beautification upgrades of buildings and other older meshes, and also upgrading to the new HD grid. I also made my version condensed and compact version based on the map provided in the UMR 2021 thread. I cut it down to the Lewmaple and Oakwood subdivisions to make it a little more compact and easier to navigate in the map view.

@neilsmith749 , if you haven't already been doing the same, I can bundle and send you what I've been working on for a UMR 2024/25 version in order to keep this excellent route going.

Today UMR2025 appeared on the DLS. Author is smousher1. Description is the same as for UMR2022. Is it an official new version?

Giving this route a run in Trainz22PE and only have one missing asset kuid2:60238:26184:1 by vulcan (no type or name listed). what am I missing?
So far everything looks very nice with great scenery, wish I could do as well.

kuid2:60238:26184:1 is a Hotel, @martinvk, the Transcontinental Hotel. I found it on trainzland.
Vulcan still pops on here, send him a PM. Maybe he can upload it to the DLS

Using a Jet Sled, I made a quick trip from the Shaumburg Portal to the Ashleigh Portal (596 km in 32 minutes, 1116 kph) to see what the route is like to travel on.
Nice variety of scenery and industries.

A personal quibble: I know that it is far easier to have tracks oriented north-south and east west and thus follow the baseboard grid but this is a very rare prototype track orientation. Granted from the driver's point-of-view, it makes no difference but from an aerial perspective I find it looks odd. Be that as it may, great respect for the effort in building this route, I couldn't do half as well.

In five places the super-elevation of the track was a bit excessive to the point where the vehicle was tilted almost on its side. Great for speeding around corners but don't stop to admire the view. LOL

All distances are measured from the Shaumburg Portal

Just before the West Palmer Crossover 1 +386 km

and just after the Gladston Wye N, +566 km. Somehow I crossed over to the left track, which was rectified at the next crossover.

Strange that this time the right track was not super-elevated. Could the vehicle be influencing the track tilt? I thought that was a track property independent of what is on the track.
