UK Steam-era route with a good maintenance depot?

Learning... slowly!
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knew of any British steam-era routes which have a decent length run with a few decent stations, but most importantly a really good maintenance depot- like, relatively large workshops, and a few sidings for storing locos- both for maintenance or for disposal, rather than just a small shed or two.

I like the area to one side of Doncaster Station on the ECML route but that route frustrates me incredibly, as the points are set completely at random when you do your own sessions- I've never successfully run a train between KX and Doncaster or Doncaster and York because there's always sets of points that divert you down a siding at high speed, or switch which road you're on in the middle of a 100mph section, throwing the train off the track.

Anyway, if anyone knows of any such routes I'd be really grateful hear your suggestions! Thanks,

Alex

There are none that I know of other than the ECML. There's a route by nexusdj called Midshire. It's fairly long with a large maintenance facility, but it's also fairly modern.

However, at present I am trying to build a route but I'm stuck for an idea. I could give it a go, if you like? Do you want to pm me?

Jack

Dear Jack,

The Great Central Railway route comprises the sheds at Annesley, Nottingham Victoria, Leicester Central and Woodford Halse. The first three are modelled to the original track plans, whereas at Woodford Halse they are modified to simulate the tracks built for operations during and after the second world war. They may be worth a look.

Dear Jack,

The latest version was uploaded on the 23rd July as "GCR V3" with kuid:351596:101176 to the Download Station. It is a WIP so that the scenery for many areas in the countryside is not yet completed. There may be some problems with missing assets, particularly speed trees by Pofig, but I can help you with these as required. A new version "GCR V4" is well underway and I will try to upload this towards the end of this year. Earlier versions on the Download Station are also available, but they will not include the marshalling yards and shed at Woodford Halse.

Peter.
