UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Just a little question, how do I host pictures on here from Flickr? I previously used TurboImageHost but it's gone kaput recently. Thanks for any help :)

Sorry about me bombarding the thread with my random Frankenstein emus :-)

Thought I may as well do some experimenting as I have a body shell that covers many different classes :)

That's not entirely true. You can only say what someone can or can't do up until the other person agrees to the lisence. Any changes after-the-fact have to be re-agreed upon.

But the statement of no reskins and no showing of reskins has to be specifically laid out in the license. Most licenses of content for Trainz does not say anything to that effect. So for most content reskining & posting pictures is legal. And realistically if one were, it's not really worth it to go to court over.

General copyright law doesn't restrict reskining or showing pictures of reskins. You then have to put up with people from different countries & their different laws.

In my opinion it's always best to ask for permission anyway whether the license says you can reskin or not. Don't forget it's someone else's work to start with.

Current progress of my route based upon the former 1847 - 1968 March - Wisbech - Magdalen Road GER branch line running across the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk Fenlands. Progress is a bit slow as I don't always get enough PC time each day. I still have a lot of work to do before timetabled train services can run on my branch line. I have included photos of the original station so you can compare them with my efforts so far. The crossing gates I am using are fully operational but they first need to be assigned their own ATLS radio channel; and also check rails are being used on all crossings to make them look more realistic.

Hey Andy, that looks pretty cool.

On the lefthand side of the station, you've included the station overhang. But when comparing it with the photo, I feel like it should be moved further down the platform. Or is there another photo to prove me wrong? ;)

Hi conductorphil

Many thanks for your kind comments.

In answer to your question, in the B&W photo (taken from the book 'Branch Lines Around Wisbech' - Middleton Press) the real station at Middle Drove was only a basic station serving the rural area at Middle Drove, Norfolk, roughly midway between Wisbech, Cambs, and Magdalen Road, Norfolk on the 9 mile Great Eastern Railway 1847 - 1968 single track branch. My station's left platform actually has two small shelters as opposed to the real station which only had the one small shelter on the left platform as seen in the B&W photo.

After the Wisbech - Magdalen Road track was closed in 1968 it was lifted in early 1969 and since then the track bed has almost disappeared back into the remote, isolated norfolk fenlands, although it still can just about be traced on Google Earth. On my recreation, I have tons of jobs yet to do before I can even consider running any timetabled services.

I am recreating the former through route GER branch line from March, Cambs to just beyond Middle Drove, Norfolk via Wisbech using original photos, maps and signal box track diagrams from my books 'Branch Lines Around Wisbech' and 'Branch Line To Upwell' (which covers the former 1883 - 1966 Wisbech & Upwell roadside tramway).

I think I'm having one of those days where I wish I could run a train without having to bother building any track to run them on.
This screenshot is from my newly completed 'Gravel Bank' Farm based upon the real farm near Black Drove, Norfolk.

Ever since British Rail went and closed this section of track they still own it. However, the problem of trespassers using this part of the old line as a shortcut is getting worse...

Work finally gets underway to replace Glauston International's station building dating from 1971

The AeroLink monorail station takes shape

A 66 waits with a train of excavated ballast, as Platform 3 is demolished and rebuilt around it.

Piles of old, rotten wooden sleepers await recycling

An FGW HST arrives with the 10:46 to Oxford while a 395 operates a Domestic High Speed service terminating here

The 395 leaves with a new destination to London Mitchell Street via Clapham Junction and St Pancras

Just a couple of matching screenshots from my under construction railway line (identically copying the former 1847/1848 - 1968 March - Wisbech - Watlington branch line) and the surrounding landscape which has seen extra baseboards added to add more scope to the wider environment. There is major and finely detailed landscaping work being carried out from trackside to the edge of the furthest baseboard away from my branch line.

* Small bungalow close to the former level crossing on Black Drove, Norfolk. On my version, the railway line is still in place behind this bungalow, but is being depicted as been recently closed

* Gravel Bank Farm, nr Black Drove, Norfolk. Excuse the xmas tree that the farmer has placed in the courtyard but after all I am building an xmas themed-route. Notice the three BR standard vans being used as farm store sheds - I have not modified these vans in any way. As for the fields in this area, trees and shrubs are yet to be added to bring the area more to life.

Great shots all! I've been working some more on the Fimbar Lines:

Fimbar Town, now with canopies and some signage:

And the next station along, Fimbar Broad Street, which is elevated above the streets of Fimbar:
