ugly trains

Don't get me started and i don't even know why this was even developed.

Seriously, "it" looks like a GP38 on steroids and tried to blend in, but 1 major flaw? Anyone?

I love those things!

For some reason, I really liked that shot. The grime looks great! :hehe: I don't like the graffiti though. I do like the multiple electric tracks I'm seeing.

I came across this one the other day...

The more I look at it, the more it appeals to me (slightly) but the number board and lights that jut out are really are a wart on her!

This is not my shot nor do I claim it to be mine.

Actually, the pneumatic mining locomotives are a bit of a favorite for me right now. We need some for the coal mines and saw mills around the Trainz layouts.:D

What about this thing?

I like trains, not giant shoe-shaped plastic moulds!!

:p

Blasphemy against the new Tohoku Shinkansen! It may not have a smoke stack, but it's probably the fastest train in revenue service.
Jaleel has a set of plans, but he hasn't been active for a while.(And likes trams better anyway)

:cool:Claude

No the Paint scheme is a flaw because one even though it's in a New Haven Scheme it doesn't suit the locomotive very well (at all actually).

Well considering they got it back asswards (although the Metro North "Executive" paint doesn't look too bad on them). Go figure, they do an excellent job with the McGinnis paint on the P32's but this looks like Brookfield visited all the different locomotive manufacturers and asked for parts. In my opinion, the MTA should've just overhauled the GP8/9/35's and FL9's instead of ordering the BL20's. Ooo well, atleast you don't have to see them everday haha. Of course lately I think an FL9's been running the upper Harlem but I'm not possitive. I deffinetly know the Waterbury and Danbury lines has the FL9's and F10's sidelined. It's hard to see them be phased out by such garbage.

Oh, by the way, the horn mounted on the side is a Metro North thing with their work locomotives, it has to do with the catenary on the New Haven Line. Not a bad sounding horn, but the electric bell is blaaah. The cabs are very nice though :p

Actually, I did hear that the Tasmanian Railways once fitted one of their locos (I think it was a Q class) with experimental streamlining like the Victorian S class Pacifics. Apparently though the project was a failure and it didn't last long. However, I don't think that photo is of the Tassie loco in question (the loco in that photo looks vaguely like a British A4 gone wrong). Still damn ugly though. :p
