Two questions about routes/sessions.

1. How do you set the location where the session opens, geographically I mean. When I open a session to run it, it starts at the same place all the time, but how do I change the opening location?
2. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, maybe not. I build a consist of 30 well cars and program each and every one with what I want loaded. I save as a consist. When I place the saved consist in the session/route the cars are all there but the programming is not. Can you save a "programmed" consist, or do I have to do the tedious programming every time? Arrrgh!

1- save the session, or place more than 1 consist although unless you save you back where you started.
2-place the saved (all) consist in the session layer then go to driver, your first command is instant load 09 from jointed rail. This will give you a realistic loading.

Beginners guide, covers creating sessions and changing the default train for the first driver;

Instant Load;

Also don't forget to patch to the latest, even if the latest ain't completely bug free it usually has less than previous versions.

If you are talking about a "drive" session, your session will always open to consist of the first driver.

Ok No. 1 is answered. It is as simple as the first driver in your list is the default start position.
2. I don't think I explained myself right. I'll try again. got a consist of wellcars. Open rolling stock flyout, click on ? and program the car with want I want to load in bottom position and top position. ( 2 tanktainers on bottom, 1 53 foot cont on top.) When the car rolls through the container yard i've built using Multi Ind track, this is how the car will load. This is the programming I'm talking about that wont save with the consist. When I place the saved consist, it comes with default loading parameters, which of course are worthless. Hope this explains what I meant.
Thanks for the help!

Think you have it inside out, if you want the multiple industry track to load a specific container, you have to click the scenery object tool and the question mark in that, then click on the track and tell it what to load and set the starting quantity and production rate. If the cars have that load in their list of commodities they should get loaded with the one specified by the track. "2 tanktainers on bottom, 1 53 foot cont on top", I'm not sure that's possible in Multiple Industry, but if the car is set up to load that configuration in the attachments it might work.

Thanks Sniper. I just tested that hypothesis and it "don't" work for me. I have the MIN track programmed to load various specific containers in its queues. You cant configure how it loads and it randomly selects the containers to load. You have to tell the individual cars what you want in each position. BTW I don't use the default( built-in) containers. So a combination of telling MIN WHAT to load and telling the cars HOW to load gives me a very realistic looking train. As I said though, the car programming won't hold when you save as consist. Short of re-doing the config.txt file for each car to use the containers I want (please God, no) do you know if there is a way to have the programming of the individual car hold when saved?

I'm gonna hijack my own thread here. There is a gap between the containers. I remember seeing a thread about this several months ago. However the search feature being, no feature at all, does anyone know how to drop that top container so it sits on top of the bottom one. Flying containers just ain't prototypical, ya know!
